As expected, Square Enix have announced Final Fantasy XIII-2 at their 1st Production Department Premier event in Tokyo today. The conference is still ongoing so we don’t have much information at the moment.
What we do know is that Motomu Toriyama will direct again, it’s due for both the PS3 and 360 for a simultaneous release in 2011 (at least in Japan) and the trailer shown at the event had Lightning in armor, fighting with a purple haired man.
[Update] Here’s Lightning in the first official screenshot wearing the aforementioned armour. Snazzy!

nice! They may even take a diffrent approach to this one and put towns and stuff in it like previous FF, just to show everyone a diffrent ff-13 experience in both 1 and 2. or maybe stick to the same…really I don’t mind :S

I don’t get the hate for FFXIII…
I loved 7-10, skipped 12, but really enjoyed 13. Yeah it was different and not what I expected, but still very good all the same.
I will be keeping an eye on this…and Versus of course :D

I understand the hate for 13 but i don’t understand how 6 isn’t very well known. Best in the series imo. 12 was fresh but flawed still good though. But 13 did look absolutely beautiful

FF13 was disappointing for me. It was dumbed down too much. I hope they will improve this with ff13-2
