The Unfinished Swan Swims To PS3?

This news comes to you via Google Translate, so apologies if what you are about to read is as twisted as a box of soapy frogs.

French site PlayFrance has uncovered a mystery game entitled ‘The Unfinished Swan’ which is being developed by, the apparently bird obsessed, Gaint Sparrow. The official site for the game has this in-no-way-useful description:

The Unfinished Swan is a first-person painting game set in an entirely white world. Players can splatter paint to help them find their way through an unusual garden.

Those cunning fans of frog’s legs at PlayFrance have noticed that a former employee of Giant Sparrow has recently posted his CV with the following information:

Past Employment:
3D Design and Animation
Giant Sparrow / Sony Computer Entertainment, Santa Monica, CA Oct-Nov 2010
Generate concept art, 3D animations in Maya, and models for Gamebryo game engine / PlayStation 3.

As Giant Sparrow only have one game in development, it seems logical that The Unfinished Swan is heading to PlayStation 3 via Sony. Check out the screenshots and tech demo below and then join me in a collective “Huh?”

  1. So presumably it’s some sort of maze where you find your way by painting walls rather than by using, say, a torch. Looks, odd, but in a good way. Wonder if this will have Move support?

    • I really hope so… Some games make you immediately think of motion controllers, and The Unfinished Swan is one of them imo.

  2. Huh? Actually looks like a lot of fun though, I imagine this could be a great PSN game..

  3. if done right… it could be a game worth getting excited for I think Move support would be great.

  4. I think that looks amazing. Unique and fun.

  5. I will join the huh?
Looks a bit strange, but can make a great puzzle game

  6. looks cool, but reckon it will get boring fast if thats all it is.

    • Yeah I was thinking similarly. Nice concept, but will need more than that to keep me entertained. Soundtrack will make or break it too.

  7. The translations alright actually, although I think ‘jardin atypique’ actually means a ‘blank canvas. But it works as it is.

Anyway the game certainly is an original concept, one to keep an eye on for sure. Like others have said, would be great with move support.

  8. I’ll wait for the finished version.

  9. I like it, and if it has Move support, even better – I love Move :)

  10. That looks quite cool.
