The Unfinished Swan Swims To PS3?

This news comes to you via Google Translate, so apologies if what you are about to read is as twisted as a box of soapy frogs.

French site PlayFrance has uncovered a mystery game entitled ‘The Unfinished Swan’ which is being developed by, the apparently bird obsessed, Gaint Sparrow. The official site for the game has this in-no-way-useful description:

The Unfinished Swan is a first-person painting game set in an entirely white world. Players can splatter paint to help them find their way through an unusual garden.

Those cunning fans of frog’s legs at PlayFrance have noticed that a former employee of Giant Sparrow has recently posted his CV with the following information:

Past Employment:
3D Design and Animation
Giant Sparrow / Sony Computer Entertainment, Santa Monica, CA Oct-Nov 2010
Generate concept art, 3D animations in Maya, and models for Gamebryo game engine / PlayStation 3.

As Giant Sparrow only have one game in development, it seems logical that The Unfinished Swan is heading to PlayStation 3 via Sony. Check out the screenshots and tech demo below and then join me in a collective “Huh?”

  1. an’t get my head out of this great artist Yoji Shinkawa. It’s like he draw that bench too xD
Brilliant, it is unique and could be fun. Will keep an eye out.

  2. da Blob/Epic Mickey for grown ups. Lot of potential in that idea, and agree Move would sit well with this. Wonder if there will be any colour at all in there, or even swans?

  3. I’ll look forward to splattering my way through an unusual garden :D

    • Haha! I laughed for all the wrong reasons. Perhaps that’s what you were after. If so… *applauds*

  4. The music in that video gives me a vibe that it could be some sort of survival/horror or mystery/thriller type of story.

  5. That does actually look quite intriguing.

  6. enemies of this game are the police trying to stop you from further vandalism.

  7. Nifty.

  8. Looks interesting. Has a lot of potential too. The sound effects and the “don’t be afraid” lettering on the floor could point in the direction of a horror game with some puzzles. Or I just hope that’s what it is because it sure is gonna get boring fast if it’s just “maze with painting”.

  9. looks aight.

  10. If the price is right that’ll make a nice PSN game. If they’re aiming for full game prices they’ll have to have more game mechanics than the video shows.

And I’ll expect there to be lots of hard to find hidden details for us to hunt.
