Unreal Engine on PSP2 Footage

One of the many announcements relating to Sony’s NGP reveal in Tokyo yesterday, Epic Games’ Unreal Engine was shown running on the new device. From the makers of Infinity Blade, here’s a look at a demo of the tech blissfully racing along on Sony’s next generation portable.

Adding to his claim that the NGP’s GPU is four times more powerful than any other mobile platform he’s seen, Epic Games CTO Tim Sweeney added:

As developers, we love Sony’s console-style operating system, which provides sufficient control over memory and other system resources.

Looking at the video above, we can see where the love comes from, Tim.

  4. I can’t wait til this is out. It looks amazing. Hope Sony don’t let what happened to death of PSP with piracy and hackers happen to this.

  6. Utterly mind-blowing!

Slightly off topic, this crossed my mind yesterday: I’m not a COD player but can you imagine what it would be like to play COD online over 3G and Wi-Fi networks??? This thing would sell 3 times as fast as the 3DS for that one game. If it means success for Sony’s new handheld then I’m happy. Getting this Day 1 no matter what the cost

  7. Not having a cell processor really seems to get developers on the side of sony maybe this is hinting at tech of PS4

  8. One…giant leap for gaming kind.

  9. Beautiful!
