NGP Real-Time Demo Looks Fantastic

Developer ‘Trinigy’ has posted a one minute NGP tech demo on YouTube, and it certainly looks impressive! Alongside the video was the following description:

“This video shows a scene creating in the Vision Game Engine running in real time on the NGP. The demo is designed to highlight some of the features that will be available on the NGP version of the game engine.”

Including:

  • NGP-specific shader optimizations.
  • Glare effects and postprocessing.
  • Static and dynamic lighting with volumetric lights.
  • NGP-optimized, multi-threaded architecture.”

What do you think?

  3. Ohhhh it’s beautiful, I think I am now SOLD!
    Day one purchase.

  4. looks good for a handheld, not ps3 level graphics but still pretty good.

from the sound of that music, they could be turning this into a bond game. ^_^

  5. The video has been removed by the user?

  6. Looks good but in the back of my mind there’s that thing about not being able to run the NGP at full speed because of heat.. so is this performance coming at reduced processor speed is what i’m wondering or are the ‘tech’ vids we’ve seen so far the equivalent of the Doc Oc renders before PS3 launched.

  7. Well the graphics in places seem like an extremely beefed up PS2, they have that aire of rigidness all PS2 games had. Not as good as some tech demos we saw a while back but not bad, I feel this is probably the starting level for NGP graphics and I’m pleased with it.

Im sure it’s not as impressive as it could be, but it is still looking great :D

  9. Yeah, no shadows, and the world was empty rather than cluttered. The iPhone can easily do pretty environments, it’s filling them that takes the power.

  10. No, no, I’m with you. I think it looks very bland. That said, this engine is not representative of what the NGP can do.
