SCEE’s ‘Welcome Back Programme’ Detailed

A post on the EU PS Blog has gone into detail as to what gamers can expect from Sony once the PlayStation Store has been restored, which we’re assuming will be towards the end of the month.

First up you can choose two of the following PS3 titles:

And PSP owners can choose two of the following:

In addition there will be 30 days free PlayStation Plus for those who have yet to subscribe, and 60 days free for those who are already signed up. Music Unlimited subscribers will get 30 days free.

Of course, there are a few terms and conditions:

  1. “For eligibility for the welcome back programme consumers must be an account holder on 20 April 2011. Specific details about these offers and eligibility requirements will be posted as the services go live. All existing PSN registrants have 30 days from when the welcome back programme goes live to redeem their content.
  2. For the German market, InFamous and Dead Nation will be replace with Super Stardust HD and Hustle Kings in the selection of PS3 games.
  3. For the German market, Pursuit Force and Killzone Liberation will be replaced with Everybody’s Golf 2 and Buzz Junior Jungle Party in the selection of PSP games. Killzone Liberation will not offer online gameplay functionality.
  4. Access to the 30 days free PS Plus subscription is only available for those countries where PS Plus is offered. You will have access to the PS Plus content planned for May for 30 days. Access to the free games and exclusive features finishes at the end of the 30-day subscription period. Anything you buy with exclusive discounts, dynamic themes and premium avatars are yours to keep forever.”

Happy?

Update: The page has been removed from the European blog.

  1. Got all 5, and don’t own a PSP. Still, 60 days extra of PS+, that’s nice.

  2. Quite happy to take a copy of InFamous & Dead Nation for free. Nice one Sony.

  3. Erm, thanks i guess.

Like lots of people here have said – i already own/have owned the games i want

Maybe a few options or a straight credit would have been better, i.e. 3 x free months of plus, or 2 x games and 1 month of plus.

Personally i’ll take Infamous and R&C, but still feel disappointed. To those who own disc copies of the games, they will be pretty much useless in trade in value after this too.

  4. Wipeout HD is super amazing. Anyone who doesn’t have that should deffo pick it.

    • Agreed i already own it , its far and away the best game on the list and id strongly advise people to get it that dont already own it . You can play your own music whilst racing (like GT5) which i always enjoy .
Hopefully with all the new players the excellent online will get a boost in figures too.

  5. To all the ungrateful moaners – tough!

  6. I hate to sound greedy, but what if we own a psp and a ps3?

    • I don’t own both but you do present a good question! :)

    • Confirmed on the EU blog if you own both then you get 4 games. 2x ps3 AND 2x psp :D

  7. Ooh! I’ll take big Ratch & Clank, Dead Nation and small Modnation, Killzone. Oh! and chuck in 60 days for good measure thankyou very much :)

    • Exaclt what I’ll be having! Just need a month of firstplay aswell lol

  8. Worth noting, Ratchet & Clank doesn’t have trophies (if that helps you choose).

  9. Infamous, Wipeout and Dead Nation if its true. As for PSP I couldn’t care really I hardly use it.

  10. For the German market, InFamous and Dead Nation will be replace with Super Stardust HD and Hustle Kings in the selection of PS3 games.

Dead Nation – the only game I do not own on that list and they replace it with two games that I have absolutely no interest in? Thank god I had US and UK accounts…

    • Hustle Kings is one of the best titles on the PSN store , i was well ad truly hooked on that for nearly a month. Is pool big in Germany ?

      • Not that I’m aware of. I like the occasional game of Pool in a bar but it’s not the kind of game I’d spend time in my room playing infront of a TV.
SuperStardust looks like the kind of game that get’s repetitive real fast.

    • SuperStardust is also a great early PSN title.
