A post on the EU PS Blog has gone into detail as to what gamers can expect from Sony once the PlayStation Store has been restored, which we’re assuming will be towards the end of the month.
First up you can choose two of the following PS3 titles:
- LittleBigPlanet
- Infamous
- Wipeout HD/Fury
- Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty
- Dead Nation
And PSP owners can choose two of the following:
- LittleBigPlanet PSP
- ModNation Racers PSP
- Pursuit Force
- Killzone Liberation
In addition there will be 30 days free PlayStation Plus for those who have yet to subscribe, and 60 days free for those who are already signed up. Music Unlimited subscribers will get 30 days free.
Of course, there are a few terms and conditions:
- “For eligibility for the welcome back programme consumers must be an account holder on 20 April 2011. Specific details about these offers and eligibility requirements will be posted as the services go live. All existing PSN registrants have 30 days from when the welcome back programme goes live to redeem their content.
- For the German market, InFamous and Dead Nation will be replace with Super Stardust HD and Hustle Kings in the selection of PS3 games.
- For the German market, Pursuit Force and Killzone Liberation will be replaced with Everybody’s Golf 2 and Buzz Junior Jungle Party in the selection of PSP games. Killzone Liberation will not offer online gameplay functionality.
- Access to the 30 days free PS Plus subscription is only available for those countries where PS Plus is offered. You will have access to the PS Plus content planned for May for 30 days. Access to the free games and exclusive features finishes at the end of the 30-day subscription period. Anything you buy with exclusive discounts, dynamic themes and premium avatars are yours to keep forever.”
Happy?
Update: The page has been removed from the European blog.

I didn’t particularly feel like I needed any reward / compensation for downtime of a free service (different for those of you with PS+, of course) … but I’ll happily take two of those. Impressed by the offer.

for me thats a bonus haven’t got any games on the list :(,, so im thinking some Wipeout action aint played that since ps1 so am abit exited to see what that looks like in 1080p,, its then heads or tails between LBP or Rachet.. i wasn’t expecting anything from sony so this is a bonus.. its not sonys fault at the end of the day.. this will become a familiar occurrence as we enter the digital world , cloud

I really think they should have offered a choice of 2 from 10 – like a lot of people here I’ve got all of the games on offer and so the ‘hard core’ gamers affected by the PSN outage end up not benefitting from the reward scheme – only the casual gamers get something out if it.
I just hope that the 30 days of PS+ are worth it but having seen what’s been on offer since PS+ launched, I’m not too optimistic.

By the looks of it I’m the best off here. I think it is kinda unfair on others though. Can’t penilise them for already having the stuff. Oh and that lot right there is 58 quid in total :O

You’re forgetting the one year free ID theft too ;-)

Anyone who supports Sony by buying their first party products is getting very little. They gave LBP away with plus already, and all the others have had Plus discounts too.
Store credit would have been the only fair way. In addition, it may not be Sony’s fault they were hacked, but it was their fault that they stored peoples data with inadequate protection.
I’m disappointed but I’m not surprised.
