A post on the EU PS Blog has gone into detail as to what gamers can expect from Sony once the PlayStation Store has been restored, which we’re assuming will be towards the end of the month.
First up you can choose two of the following PS3 titles:
- LittleBigPlanet
- Infamous
- Wipeout HD/Fury
- Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty
- Dead Nation
And PSP owners can choose two of the following:
- LittleBigPlanet PSP
- ModNation Racers PSP
- Pursuit Force
- Killzone Liberation
In addition there will be 30 days free PlayStation Plus for those who have yet to subscribe, and 60 days free for those who are already signed up. Music Unlimited subscribers will get 30 days free.
Of course, there are a few terms and conditions:
- “For eligibility for the welcome back programme consumers must be an account holder on 20 April 2011. Specific details about these offers and eligibility requirements will be posted as the services go live. All existing PSN registrants have 30 days from when the welcome back programme goes live to redeem their content.
- For the German market, InFamous and Dead Nation will be replace with Super Stardust HD and Hustle Kings in the selection of PS3 games.
- For the German market, Pursuit Force and Killzone Liberation will be replaced with Everybody’s Golf 2 and Buzz Junior Jungle Party in the selection of PSP games. Killzone Liberation will not offer online gameplay functionality.
- Access to the 30 days free PS Plus subscription is only available for those countries where PS Plus is offered. You will have access to the PS Plus content planned for May for 30 days. Access to the free games and exclusive features finishes at the end of the 30-day subscription period. Anything you buy with exclusive discounts, dynamic themes and premium avatars are yours to keep forever.”
Happy?
Update: The page has been removed from the European blog.

People should bear in mind that some of the smaller PSN titles might already be lined up for ps+ over the coming months (i.e flower) so rather than give that and have plusers complain next month they’ve gone with all full retail versions.
Myself, I was hoping for Modnation racers on the ps3 which is a shame but at least I can get that on the psp. I don’t own any of the 4 on the psp so what do you guys suggest I’m thinking Modnation and Killzone as I own LBP on the ps3 and maybe it’s too similar?

both little big planet and modnation have a demo.

yeah, the ps3 version of MNR would have been cool, especially as i don’t own it, guess i’ll get the psp version.

I was happy to find inFamous on the list. It’s the only one there I don’t own yet, and I actually planned to play it before the release of the sequel. But guess what – it’s replaced by Hustle Kings here in Germany… Not cool, Sony :(

But that’s not Sonys fault is it? It’s the German governments laws on publishing that Sony has to adhere to. Tis a shame though.

Wipeout and Dead Nation are the only games on the list I don’t own. I want both of those games, so there’ll be no complaints from me!

List is as I expected.
Games they have given for free before (LBP), games with loads of DLC (LBP) = lots of potential dlc purchases and inFamous which will no doubt boost interest in the imminent sequel.
Not really complaining though, I don’t own Dead Nation or the Fury add on for Wipeout, so not a total loss!
Feel sorry for the people who own all of the games though.

that’s a nice selection, i, like many people i suspect, was expecting some of the smaller psn titles, or even minis, but full games like those, pretty generous.
as it happens i have lbp and infamous on disc, though i did check to see what i could get for them at cex ^_^
dead nation looks pretty cool, i’ll get that i think.
i don’t own any of the psp titles though, MNR is a definite, and i’ll have to decide what my second title will be.
i’m hoping the plus offer takes your sub status from when the network went down and not now, because mine expired during the downtime.

Only own one of the five (LBP) and with two paying accounts on my machine, I’m laughing.
Overall a decent selection of games anyway and sure, some have been given away free before but they’re quality titles, not minis or small PSN games like some feared.
We were never going to get ‘new’ new games or any third party stuff or any form of store credit, anyone who thinks we could have done is either an idiot or just greedy. I feel sorry for those who own all the games but I guess that’s what the free Plus is for.

Lots of loyal Sony customers seem quite disheartened by this, and I don’t think I could honestly blame them. It’s a generous list, but many loyal customers including myself own most of them, so this Welcome Back pack is no good to the customers that Sony should be most concerned with, and the ones that they rely on.
I personally don’t quite know how to react. Surely they could have seen this problem, considering they are all older Sony-published games?
Tuffcub
It’s free games because a free service was offline for while.
So.. complaints?
Mathematicool
I have most of those except for 2 PSP games and 1 PS3 game so I’ll get those and InFamous because I don’t have it on my HDD.
