Sony’s promised ‘Welcome Back’ package is now live. PS3 owners will be able to choose two PS3 games from a list of five, and PSP owners can choose two PSP games from a list of four.
For PS3 owners, go to the ‘Welcome Back’ section in the PlayStation Store, and select 2 titles from the following list:
- Dead Nation
- inFAMOUS
- LittleBigPlanet
- Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty
- Wipeout HD + Fury
For PSP owners, go to the ‘Welcome Back’ section of PlayStation Store on your PSP system and select 2 titles from the following list:
- LittleBigPlanet (PSP)
- ModNation Racers
- Pursuit Force
- Killzone Liberation
Those wanting to get their 30 days free PlayStation Plus need to go to the PlayStation Store and under the ‘Welcome Back’ section, select ‘PlayStation Plus: 30 Days Free’, and you’ll be given access. Existing PlayStation Plus subscribers won’t need to do anything, and their 60 free days will be added automatically.
PlayStation Network users will also get a large number of free virtual items in PlayStation Home, with more information on that available in the near future.
A selection of “On Us” movie rentals are currently available to PlayStation Network customers this weekend only, where Video Service is available.
Now go on, get out of here you crazy kids.

I had 3 UK accounts
Managed to get 4 games in total, 2 games from 2 accounts.
The third account, sadly, well when my dad made it, he put the wrong letter in the email address (…geezer instead of…geeza) and so I couldn’t change the password, so can’t login on that account :(
But yeah you get two games for every online account you have made before the PS3 hack. Enjoy :D

Well, so far it has taken me 4 hours of constantly getting pissed off trying to get these games, 2 hours down the line, i read the whole account management stuff, takes an hour of errors to get the service up, open it, take 15 more muniuites of errors, i then can finally click, ‘get free games’… guess what happens when i click it… ERRORS! Jesus. Get your services to work Sony!

Sorry, i may have sounded ungrateful, but im not, i am very pleased with this gesture from Sony, they of course, didnt HAVE to do it, but im more annoyed that its there, and all i seem to get is error messages, i managed to get the 1st game to start downloading now, cannot get back to grab wipeout.

I don’t think he’s an ungrateful twonk at all. I think he expects to be able to receive what’s being given to him. I agree that Sony need to sort it out. 6 weeks of the store offline and they can’t get it to work properly when it comes back is a very poor show.

So should Sony spend thousands on extra server costs which will only be needed for a couple of days? Or should people be a little bit patient.Once the initial rush is over I’m sure everything will run smoothly.

I think they need to do whatever they can to get us back on side, ive lost a portion of faith in Sony, when i heard of this gift, i took it as a ‘Sorry about the inconvience’ kind of thing, but when the store comes back, and is in accessable, i dont think its doing much for them. It may be me expecting too much from the product i bought, but if i bought a microwave and it didnt heat food up, id be annoyed at that too.

Or they could’ve rolled out the Welcome Back Pack slowly on a region by region basis, thus reducing the impact of everyone logging on at once. They clearly didn’t give enough time between each regions activation. They could’ve split the UK into North and South or something. There are lots of ways of doing this without buying new servers.

pack on the plus section first so all us plus members could get it first without errors. Then let all the other free loaders get it…..Even though if you have been a member of psn then plus from the start you probably have all the free games already like me.

Firstly, the free games are completely unrelated to Playstation Plus. Secondly, why are you, as a plus member, more deserving of these free games?
I’m a Plus member also, and I’m happy just to have the store back. Free games are just a bonus that wasn’t warranted.

The thing with PS+ isn’t like Xbox Live Gold.
Gold is essentially silver with more features, but PS+ is purely a download games subscription, like the subs for DC Universe or FirstPlay.
I’m a Plusite, but don’t think that I’m an upper-class PSN user.

I guess i did sound like a twat, was not meant to sound like that but as it has been said the games are nothing to do with plus.Also i am happy to have the store back and i am not downloading any of the free games as i have bought them already. I like many have been a plus member from day one and the only good things to come out of plus are the auto downloading of patches and the cloud saves,and the discounts they offer.I agree the games were not warranted for what is really a free online service. Believe me i am no more deserving than the next man for free stuff and did not mean to come over like that. I just wish sony would offer everyone services like the cloud saving and auto download of patches without the need for plus subscription.I wonder does anyone know if we can buy another years plus subscription while already having one like you can with xbox live,as i want to get the 12+3 month subscription on the store.

Infamous and dead nation for me since those are the ones I don’t have. That’s 8GB.
For those of you that have limited broadband: If it only slows you down instead of you getting charged extra you could get it now, cancel the download and then restart it when it’s a day or two before your quota resets (if that’s the way they have them set up) so you only get the slow speed at the end of the month. Will mean waiting for your game though.
For the PSP i’m assuming LBP and modnation are the best ones to get. Am I right?

Judging by the all problems most people seem to be having, I think I’ll leave it for a few days to settle down before I try to download anything.
Besides, I still haven’t decided what games I want yet!! I think I’m going to go with Wipeout HD + Fury, and then it’s a toss up between Dead Nation and LBP as I’ve already played Infamous.

With LBP already having been “free” with the 1 year PSN subscription, beeing free now and LBP2 being out, I’d say get dead nation. LBP will probably be easier to find used or in the bargain bin.
