It has been announced that the Xbox 360 version of The Witcher 2 has been delayed into Q1 2012. This is disappointing as I was hoping this would be my game to break out over Christmas!
Studio boss, Adam Kicinski, had the following to say:
“The extra time will allow us to polish the title to perfection, so that the game offers an ideally balanced, fantastic experience to gamers. As the launch of the game approaches, we will be sharing more details how it will be released on Xbox 360. I trust that despite the release date shift, players will be satisfied with what we are planning for them.”

Delayed until 2012 isn’t too bad. We have a crammed Christmas quarter coming and at least you’ll have Easter sorted. In between bouts of noshing chocolate eggs.

I’ve been playing this on PC, and its RPG of the year for me (so far), an awesome game. Here’s hoping the 360 version does it justice.

Did you play the first one as well? I’m not as impressed with this one, with the changes it just feels a bit dumbed down – I prefer the camera and the combat/magic mechanics of the first one.

Played the first one right before I started the second one. I hate the inventory system of the second game but the graphics are over the top awesome. So many details, great scenery and so much going on in the game world. I agree with Severn2j. RPG of the year for me, too.

I did play the first one, right before starting this one and they are very different in the way that they play.. I’m not sure I prefer one over the other tho, they are just too different to compare, imo.. The combat system in the second game is rock hard tho, compared to the first.

Loved this on PC, bought it day one on a whim, thought it looked cool. I just feel that it isn’t really going to be suited to be played on a console though…. we’ll see, I’ll be happy to be proved wrong.

I’m willing to bet that this as more to do with Skyrim, or the lawsuit then adding polish.

I wish there was a PS3 version.:( I may have to steal a certain TSA staff writer’s xbox just so i can play the witcher 2 as i know for a fact that my Laptop can’t run it. I rather them kill any bugs that are in the game then release it with them like a certain company does.;)
Or it could be because of Skyrim and November being a very very greedy month and hogging a lot of games.
