Journey Gets Release Window of Spring 2012

Jenova Chen, Creative Director of thatgamecompany has announced that Journey will be hitting the PSN in spring 2012. It also seems like the beta went well:

“Fortunately, the online beta went very well, and our continued playtests have given us great feedback on the work we have left to complete. While there is still a ton of care and polish needed, we can’t wait to finally deliver Journey, TGC’s take on an online adventure game.”

It’s going to be a long wait, but oh so worth it.

  1. *Is distraught*

  2. Good grief! That’s a serious wait. Ah well, I’ll have about 20 games to play before then.

  3. A wonderful Journey… so many deaths in Dark Souls…. Finishing Uncharted 3.. satified with the new DBZ game for once and cheering as Sonic is back and worth buying the Limited Edition of Generations and the PSN debut of Sonic CD…

    Divine….

    • Lol, expect more than many deaths in Dark Souls if that’s possible

  4. Each to their own but I played this at Eurogamer and my god I found it dreadful, lol.

    • Wow I’m the opposite! It was one of the stand out titles for me – totally engrossing and that was without hearing the sound design. What a shame it’s not out for so long.

    • I saw it & have to admit that i didn’t really ‘get it’, but i just assumed that the expo was not really the place to play it for me.

If i was playing it by myself in the comfort of my own gaming room, then it would probably ‘click’ & be a fantastic experience.

I wouldn’t be too quick to write it off just after seeing it at the expo tbh. I think it has potential.

  5. Although I can’t say I have been waiting for this to come out, I certainly looked forward to it. These delays are sad :c

  6. You’d end up buying it anyway….he he

Oh no… this was supposed to be a reply, not a new comment >.<!!

      • LOL to be honest if it reviews well and is a budget price you’re probably right ;)

  7. Damn, I thought this would still come in 2011.

  8. Possibility for most anticipated game 2 years in a row!

  9. Thank goodness for that. I can start saving up again after all the games coming out in the run up to Christmas.

  10. Flower was a really cool game, very relaxing, so I’m looking forward to seeing what Journey is all about and losing myself for several hours at a time to more sublime playtime.
