Hideo Kojima is a massive fan of pulling the ol’ bait and switch. He appears to mean one thing and then leaps from the darkness and slaps you with something totally unexpected. Like a finger-blistering endurance crawl through about four hours of microwave ovens just when you were expecting an exciting end to your videogame.
Well, his latest venture into duplicitous hijinks surrounds everyone’s favourite bandana-wearing war criminal, Solid Snake. Remember the end of Metal Gear Solid 4? Well, how about Metal Gear Solid 5 getting a mention and Solid’s name cropping up? Confusing, huh?
Here’s the Google translate transcription from an interview the eccentric genius has given to a French magazine:

Now is this milking it? I mean it is the biggest seller of Konami…I think it’ll be a Solid Snake prequel. Anywhere in the timeline. Hoping for Zanzibar type scene but who knows. Can’t be in the future can it?

I don’t think its milking it at all, not when you put it side by side with the likes of Call Of Duty and Fifa.

I really hope we won’t be getting another Snake game as he’s dead as far as i’m concerned. However if they do a game that takes place between 2&4, i can see there being room for Snake as we have very little to go on of what he was up to during those years.
