The next Metal Gear game is not Solid. While that’s sure to have disappointed some, what Rising will do is cater to a different crowd. The crowd that likes slicing up missiles, or jumping on them.
Solid fans have got a new game to look forward to now anyway so perhaps the pressure on Rising to be more like the Metal Gear games we know and love will lift and it can just continue to be the spiritual Bayonetta sequel we’ve all wanted.
Anyway, they’ve released the PAX screenshots and it looks suitably batshit mental. Raiden rides a missile, swings his sword at it, faces off against a Solid look-alike with a glowing red sword and faces off against a chainsaw-tailed dog-thing. It’s probably got a real name, hasn’t it?

Without trying to spam post, having looked at ALL the screenshots now, it doesn’t look so bad. I just quickly looked at a couple earlier.
Teaches me to actually look at them all next time…. nothing to see here!

I will stick with vanquish thank u very much, never liked raiden anyway. I just couldn’t feel sympath for him in sons of liberty when solidus was explaining things that should not be mentioned.
He is a character u just want to beat up & cut his hair, who does he think he is, Torres?!!

I agree with you about sticking with Vanquish but nothing more than that, I really liked Vanquish and would love a sequel. But I always liked Raiden, and I like they way the took the piss out of him in MGS2, and in MGS4 I thought he was a total bad ass!
