Vita Remote Play Starts With God of War and Team Ico

Here it comes, folks. Vita Remote Play – with the ability to play PlayStation 3 games over a WiFi network on your PlayStation Vita – has begun. We first spotted this in a shaky YouTube video which showed off Killzone 3 on the diminutive portable but it’s a few old favourites that are making the first jump, as we revealed on Monday.

God of War Collection, which features HD versions of the first two games in Kratos’ epic adventure is available to play remotely right now. Also available is a couple of games I’ve played but never got around to finishing: ICO and Shadow of the Colossus Collection.

You’ll need to download a patch for the games on your PS3 but that’s free and ready to go now. In addition to the first two pieces of PS3 software available on Remote Play, you can also stream movies and music, check out your photos and use certain XMB apps like Vidzone.

What do you want to get the Remote Play treatment next?

  1. I don’t see why more aren’t enabling. Maybe this will trigger some purchases of these games (I will probably buy GOW now) and encourage them.

  2. Does remote play work on all the titles that the PSP worked with? There aren’t many I guess, but remote play PixelJunk Eden is pretty good!
