T@g arrives today. It’s a Vita 3G graffiti tagging augmented reality thing. Something a bit different that shows off your Vita, as long as your Vita is a 3G model.
We’re also going to see a Mega Fun Pack DLC drop for mad-as-a-bucket-of-frogs Frobisher Says. As if that wasn’t enough, you lucky Plus subscribers can get a year’s worth of Music Unlimited (Sony’s music streaming subscription service) for just £11.99/€11.99. We’re not sure why it’s so much more expensive in the UK but when something has been reduced from £119.98, it’s often best not to ask.
It’s quite a Vita-heavy update this week but the PS3 hasn’t been forgotten about. Jetpack Joyride, the cheap-as-chips iOS game is coming to Vita and PSP as well as PS3 and it’s going to cost £3.49/€3.99.
We’ll also see the fifth and final episode of The Walking Dead, a series I’ve only just started playing that’s been recommended to me by just about everyone. The Family Guy game is there, but be warned, I’m hearing bad things from people with review code. There’s a raft of the now normal digital releases and Sine Mora is going up, if you’re into your side-scrolling shoot-em-ups, it has a demo too, in case you’re unsure.
Oh, and you should all definitely give that DMC demo a try, it surprised me at the Eurogamer Expo just how enjoyable it was.
Here’s the highlights in a list:

Yeah, very annoyed. Sadly, makes it a no buy for me.

There’s so much DLC in these updates now, I find myself becoming quite jaded towards DLC in general. Logically I can understand that developers need to make money, and that if they can make a stupid amount of extra money via DLC while putting in just a little more time they will, but as a consumer I increasingly feel slighted by the practice. Case in point, the latest version of Gran Turismo that has all the DLC with it; when it came out I bought the most expensive collectors edition for around £150, and the DLC released for it since has a total cost of around £25 – £30 off the top of my head (it could well be more) – now you can get the game and all of the DLC for less than £20. This practice is becoming more and more common, and I think it’s going to swing round and kick developers in the nads; why should anyone bother supporting the developers early and paying full price for a game when they can just exercise patience and buy it a few months to a year on for a fraction of the price with all the additional content, or even wait just a month or so and pick it up for half the price anyway? If developers continue to give people reasons NOT to be an early adopter, they’re going to end up hanging themselves. If I’d have realised that Gearbox were going to be releasing the DLC for Borderlands 2 so quickly after release, I would have waited for the GotY edition – I won’t be making that mistake again. The ‘season pass’ arrangement that’s gaining popularity I think is a partial recognition of this problem, but basically I feel that if you’re there supporting a product from day 0, the developers / publishers should recognise that and support you in return.

the trouble is, they know a lot of people dont have that kind of patience.
i’ve held off Borderlands 2 because i know there’ll be a lot of dlc and i’ll get the GOTY edition, like i did the original.

Glad to see the vita getting some love this week :P

bit annoyed that I’ve recently picked up Doom 3 BIG edition for Doom 1 and 2 primarily and classics comes out >=( oh well at least final doom’s now out for everybody to enjoy
hazelam
damn that scee, i wanted a one more chance to post that Iago video, but they wen’t and and actually released the Walking Dead episode on time.
at the fourth attempt..
used to be the only thing you could rely on was their unreliability, now even that’s unreliable. >_<
i really wish i had a Vita right now.
actually i've wanted one for a long time, but not been able to afford it, but now especially i want one.
with Uncharted and Gravity Rush for free, Rush always looked like an interesting title.
hopefully i can add the Vita games to my download list so i can play them when i do get a Vita.

Am I the only one stunned at the Music Unlimited deal?
That’s a complete bargain isn’t it?? A service almost as good, or as good, as Spotify fit just £12 for a year. Thus us EXACTLY what Sony needed to do get traction with their services. I’ll definately take up s years sub. Previously, I wouldn’t have.
colmshan1990
One question about Music Unlimited-
Is the subscription auto-renewing? I don’t want to forget only to be charged a load this time next year…
TSBonyman
I think you can go to Account->Services on ps3 and disable auto-renew for whichever service you want.
DixNeuf
Anyone else’s Sine Mora not working? Seems to think I’ve bought the trial version
Bladesteel
Has anybody with a 3g vita not already got t@g with a code? Not that I’m complaining.
TSBonyman
Good update, i’ll probably be kept busy this week with the PS+ stuff … and Hitman Contracts which i snapped up from HMV at lunchtime as it was 15 euro cheaper than at Gamestop!
