PSN Maintenance Extended, Down Until 18:30 Tonight

The PSN maintenance, which was scheduled to be completed by 8 AM this morning, has over-run, according to official PlayStation channels.

The downtime is now expected to remain until this evening, with SCEE stating 18:30 GMT is the time you should be back up and running.

The maintenance window was for unspecified (although scheduled) reasons, with Sony stating that online play wouldn’t be affected if users signed in before the servers were tinkered with.

There was no reason given for the extended downtime.

Update: It seems like the network will remain down until approximately 22:00 GMT tonight, according to a reply on the PlayStation forums.

  1. Music Unlimited is down :-( I quit Spotify to go to the Sony Music Unlimted on the 15th Jan (mainly because it was 12 quid for the year), but not being able to listen to the music for basically two days is a bit naff. It made me realise just how little music I have on my computer.

    • I thought downloads still worked as long as you had them downloading on the xmb?

      • They do I was downloading yesterday evening through to early morning.

    *Imagine “Screw you!!” in a shouting Arnie voice… it works then.

    • I just imagined him saying “Screw you asshole” before shooting someone with a shotgun then an action sequence happens which somehow results in Arnie destroying half of the city with the Terminator theme playing as the sequence happens.

      • That also works pretty well.

  8. Finally decided to start Far Cry 3 single player, and every time I press ‘start’ to bring up the inventory menu, it tries to connect to some online feature and gets stuck in a never ending loop. Have to hold down the PS button and ‘quit game’. Properly annoying!
