PSN Store Update: 13/02/13 – Dragonborn, Aliens and Karateka

It’s quite a healthy looking PSN Store update this week. We’ve already spoken about the inclusion of Aliens: Colonial Marines and its PS Plus discount, as well as some of the other listings we expected.

Now the content listings are up and we can confirm some of the digital goodies that’ll be clogging up your internet pipes later this evening.

Karateka is perhaps one of the most interesting arrivals. It’s a side scrolling karate fighting game directed by Jordan Mechner, who not only worked on the NES original of Karateka but also the original Prince of Persia games and Sands of Time. That’s for PS3 and it’s £7.99 in the UK.

There are also a couple of RPGs for PSP (that work on Vita) from Atlus. Gungnir and Growlanser Wayfarer of Time are both available for £23.99 each. Both are tactical RPGs which were first available on PSP in Japan and the US but are appearing in Europe for the first time.

The PS2 Classics aren’t forgotten either, with a quartet of Disney games – Cars, Cars Mater-National, Treasure Planet and Winnie the Pooh – arriving alongside Medal of Honor: European Assault. The Disney titles are £7.99, while European Assault is a slightly ambitious £11.99.

The long awaited Skyrim DLC, Dragonborn, is up and priced at a discounted rate of £6.49 for the first week so grab that quickly, if you plan on getting it at all.

Here’s the list with all the major stuff, for the other bits and pieces, visit the PS Blog.

PS3 Games

  • Aliens: Colonial Marines – £49.99/€59.99
  • Anarchy Reigns – £19.99/€24.99
  • Germinator (Trial available) – £7.99/€9.99
  • Karateka – £7.99/€9.99

  • When Vikings Attack: Special Edition – £9.99/€12.99

  1. I’m getting rocket bird that looks cool kinda reminds me of shank the art, they need bring shank to the vita

    • Wipeout is free for plus

      • The highly populated attraction to Wipeout, has always eluded me(each to their own & i’m glad people enjoy it.)

Dragonborn for £6, I can’t stop smiling, especially at it prev seemed a no go on the PS3.

      • ugh and it’s 2.5GB with DLC. I bought a 16gig card a month ago to replace a small 4. The thing is already filled to the brim. Its all the same complaint though about mem cards, but I thought I’d moan about it anyway :P

      • Is there no online pass included with WipEout 2048? Or is it my download only not to include it?

  2. It’s been so long that I’m almost over Skyrim now… almost

  3. So, I’ve picked up Twisted Metal, Dishonoured, a handful of Darksiders 2 DLC, Battle Royale DLC, a When Vikings Attack expansion and Wipeout for the Vita. Best update in a long while.

  4. How much of my HDD is the Skyrim DLC’s gonna take up? Are they over 1GB each?

    • The Dragonborn DLC is about 900Mbs

      • Thought I would see a comment from you An-dz haha considering how much you have been anticipating this.

  5. *sees the skyrim DLC* HOLY SHIT! I had expected SCEE to delay it or to not upload it or to upload it but to upload the wrong version or forget to do the discount or other typical SCEE stuff. Tis a good thing that i’m unable to access PSN otherwise i would fall to temptation and get it. Hopefully, Bethesda have learnt from the lack of communication with the delayed DLC and will inform us at least one week before release if it’s going to be delayed, not 1 month after release.

I say that we nuke Aliens:CM from orbit just to be safe.

  6. SKYRIM DLC!! Downloading immediately… Can’t wait to get my mits on it.

  7. skyrim DLC is what my wallet wants! =D

  8. Skyrim’s still in the wrapper on my shelf, don’t know whether to get the dlc now while its cheap or wait till its on sale in a few years, that’s probably how long it’ll be before i get round to playing it;p

  9. I think I’ll pick up the Skyrim DLC. Not sure when I’ll get round to playing it though.
