The man who leaked information about what he claimed was Durango, Microsoft’s rumoured next gen console, has now claimed that he was raided by the police and FBI at his home early this morning. The claim came via his “SuperDAE” Twitter feed.

@benpeace91 Because its a laughing matter to have an FBI agent and 7-8 POLICE in your house. — Dan (@superDaE) February 19, 2013
According to Dan’s Twitter, the warrants for the raid on his home reference Microsoft, eBay and Paypal. This would appear to be related to the Durango developer kit put up for auction on eBay in August, which sold for $20000. Of course that depends on whether or not these claims are true.
Some sites are also reporting on another Durango kit which went up for sale on the Australian branch of eBay. The seller of that item was named as SuperDAE but has no previous items sold or any feedback whatsoever. This more recent auction started 10 days ago and ended today for AU$50,100. That seems a bit odd considering the other kit was sold in the US.
This situation is pretty unclear. Apart from the Twitter feed, which is obviously US-based (it’s listed as North Carolina and references US law enforcement), we don’t have any actual evidence of the raid just yet, and the latest eBay listing being Australian would imply a dubious link, at best.

Not once did he say (on Twitter) something like “what the hell did I do?” or “I didn’t do anything” or “I haven’t broken the law”. They will have told him what it was about so he could’ve easily told them “um… eh? What are you talking about, armed chappies?” then tweeted about that instead.
Interesting. *reaches for deerstalker*

I wonder if I could make tens of thousands of pounds by bolting a hefty PC inside a posh air conditioning case? I’m not sure I believe that this guy actually had an XBox Terry for sale, and if that is the case I hope the rich wally who won the auction is suitably poor and embarrassed now.
