TSA Black Ops II League: Week 2 Fixtures

Week 1 of our Black Ops II League is complete so it’s time to take a look at who came out on top.

Table

The first fixture saw Team A face Team B, although a lack of communication led to one of Team B’s players being replaced permanently by E8_Ball. Regardless of the change, Team A won their match and picked up all three points. Team D also took home three points in their match against Team C, with Team E making great use of their spare week by calling their team ‘Bob’ over a nice cup of Earl Grey.

Footage of Week 1

Unfortunately there is no footage of Week 1, which means we can’t provide a video. We’d like to ask people to try and record some footage of their game but if this is the genuine case that no one can record anything then thank you very much for your best efforts!

Edit: We do have a last minute video entry after all thanks to DeathByNumbers.

Fixtures

This week sees Team A take on Team C, while Team B will face Team E. This means that Team D can talk about their win over a nice game of snooker! Both matches will need to be played by Sunday 3rd March.

This week’s action will take place in a game of Demolition on the map Yemen. Once again the call does go out for some video footage. You don’t need a game capture device, some in the past have simply used their iPhone on a stand! Have a go if you like, the results could be better than expected. If you do managed to get some footage we ask that you upload it to YouTube and then link or embedd in your team’s respective camps.

Good luck to all battling this week! Team D, some of the balls may be underneath the sofa…

This is a community run tournament put together by DeathinFlamez.

  1. Is it too late to join if I go buy blops 2 now

    • Yes, sorry, the league has already begun.

  2. There should be footage? DBN told me he was uploading it last night?

    • Yeah, but then I cancelled it and resumed this morning ;) was a bit bored as it was taking too long. Not really made a video before, so apologies if it’s not great.

  3. Yeah I made a video;

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wS0DWiLCRo

only just finished uploading it, had to cancel it (it did resume this morning) so I could play a few games with YourMumAndMe and TonyCawley ;)

    • Great stuff, I’ll embed it into the article above now and hopefully next week we will have it ready to go in before the article goes live :).

      • yeah sorry, I’ll try and be a bit quicker next time ;)

  4. Could you not just use Black Ops II’s theatre mode to look through the match (get one person from each match to save the whole game into their theatre) and then ‘codcast’ it or use a capture card to record the best moments of that games highlights through the perspective of the player doing them. Say it comes up in the left that someone had just killed 5 people within a short amount of time., record that bit on the capture card too along with other highlights and then put them into a highlight reel of sorts when editing. That way you get to see gameplay from everyones perspective, and everyone gets a personal highlight.

Saying that though, that takes a lot of effort – and it’s normally done for top tier eSport matches where they are actually playing for something very competitive or it’s at a LAN. I would be willing to do it if we could hold a similar tournament during the summer holidays when I have more time, and I could get some prizes together if we needed to attract people to sign up.

Oh and also, can I suggest that for the match ups after this one it’s best of 3? It was great last time but it seemed so short, one game lasts only about 10 minutes. If it was best of 3 it would take 35 minutes at most. Just saying :) Cheers for running this competition btw guys, and just think of the possibilities with PS4, live streaming the games to TSA’s evergrowing audience :P

    • Theatre limits clips to 2 mins for rendering and upload to youtube, potentially you could split it up and upload it in segments that way regardless of having a capture card. I for one can’t live stream games as my upload speed isn’t fast enough.

Best of 3 is a decent enough idea, but probably best left to the teams to decide, maybe some people don’t have that much time? If you were doing that it might make sense to change who is hosting the match after each game.

      • It’s only 30 minutes to be fair, but fair dues, it would have to be discussed within the teams I suppose, to see if everyone has that amount of time. And yes, you would change the host to the other team after the first game. I meant that someone had a capture card, went into the whole game in the theatre mode (as you can save whole games to your theatre) and used their capture card to capture many highlights from the game (more than 2 minutes worth) and then took that onto their computer, edited it about and uploaded it to youtube. This would be done for each game in the best of 3 too – if the teams agreed to play best of 3 that is. I am aware that it would take a lot of effort, but if this was done again in the summer (maybe with even a small prize thrown in) and with highlights like I have suggested, it would take off massively, and this site would get a hell of a lot of participants – as CoD is massively competitively. Which could only be good for TSA.

      • yeah that’s pretty much what I did. Friend of mine recorded it for me, after I edited it in theater.

      • Yeah, but they could use the capture card whilst flicking through each player, picking out the best highlights from each player whilst also showing how the game progressed, and showing key events like someone taking a hardpoint etc. Or as it’s 6 on 6, just show a minute of each players best moments throughout the game, would total up to 12 minutes of highlights, but i’m sure it would be worth a watch to some people :) especially if like 2 people commentated over it. Still though, would take a lot of effort lol.

      • Took me a few hours to do that video, as I wasn’t familiar with the controls etc. You can create a highlight reel automatically within theater, but it’s not perfect. It’s difficult to capture the best bits without ruining the flow of it. I just tried to include everyone and if the person died, switched teams to a new player.

I know a people who do commentaries on youtube (jloco11) but think they are probably too busy doing their own thing.

    • The live streaming and video upload features of the PS4 had me excited for thsoe exact reasons. It would make tournaments and in-game competitions so much easier!

  5. Great stuff, and nice vid. Good luck to all the teams.

  6. Video is great! Did the editing for me ;)

  7. Great video mate hope we can have this for all the games

    • I can get a friend to record them for me, I’ll see what I can do about recording all of the matches (he’s agreed to record my team matches already though haha).

Don’t want to put him to too much trouble but he should be ok as long as I edit them ;)
