Final Fantasy X HD Remaster Site Opens, Trailer On Monday

The HD remaster of Final Fantasy X is finally taking shape after being teased back in 2011, with the official site opening up this afternoon ahead of a full trailer on Monday.

The games (they’re also re-doing X-2, not that that should be a big surprise to regular readers) have been confirmed for the West, and will appear on both PlayStation 3 and PS Vita.

Final Fantasy X is regarded as one of the better titles in the series, first releasing on PlayStation 2. The HD remaster certainly looks like it’s adding a few tweaks, but the core gameplay is expected to remain wholesale as you’d expect.

The official site is getting battered with traffic, so check back later.

      IT’S MY STORY!!

    • Agreed. This is going to be awesome. I hope it will be some sudden release date like later summer rather that something like Q4 2013. Been anticipating the game for two years now.

  2. Wow this is looking impressive. The remodelled Tidus looks a lot closer to his FMV counterpart whereas before they were like two different people.

Is it wrong that I’m drooling right now?

    • Depends where about are you drooling. o.0

      • Ha ha. I can’t help it. I haven’t been this excited for a game for years. I know it’s a 10+ year old game but damn it’s one of my all time faves and soon I can have it everywhere with me.

What I would really like to see now are comparison shots between these and the originals

  5. The Vita is getting a nice steady flow of JRPGs. Now if they could port over Ni No Kuni. Always prefer my RPGs on portable.

    • Me too. I hate seeing so many on consoles when handhelds a perfect for them as well. Hell, the psp was an RPG machine

  6. Not interested. Have both as first day release copies for PS2.

    • I have them too but this is a great excuse to go through X again, especially since I can do it whilst travelling.

  8. EU PS Blog reported that they will be released in 2013 in Europe. I was a bit scared they would delay EU. Yokatta…

  10. Looks slightly sharper but not much change. seriously can’t wait for them both to be released. Might even leave my PS4 on standby for a while.
