What is TheSixthAxis? A gaming website? A community? An outlet for our often sadly vapid, rumbling trains of thought? We don’t really know – we never really have. Nobody put us here to change the world, nobody ever told us what was right and what was wrong, and nobody helped steer our path. We just did what we thought was right, talked about what we wanted to and got excited every time somebody dropped us a comment.
That notion, that sometimes misplaced will, has spurred us on now for over six years. For me personally, getting feedback of all kinds was a pointer that we were doing something right, and that, as a diversion, a hobby, a part-time evening job you couldn’t ever get out of, the website offered a channel for creativity and a way of communicating – or at least trying to communicate – what I (and we) thought about games.
And so, 2013 brings change to the site. There’s a new design, there’s a renewed focus on PlayStation, there’re shifts and switches in terms of those that bring you the content. Blair will be taking over editorial duties on the site, for example, and later this week Alex is disappearing to paint pretty pixels for Just Add Water. There’ll be new faces too, whom we’ll introduce gradually so as not to scare the ducks.
TheSixthAxis might be a gaming website. It might be a community. It might be an outlet for its writers. But it’s also a collection of like-minded friends, and that will continue to be the case going forward. Exciting times are ahead, and with the next generation of consoles around the corner we wanted to ensure we’re placed to continue to cover them in the way we’ve always done, but with more emphasis on videos and that all-important opinion.
So, what’s new? The video above hopefully explains what we’ve been doing for the last few weeks. We hope you enjoy it, and here’s to the next six years.
tsa.

Lovely new site. New logo is nice too, but took me a while to figure the highlighted section was the sixth axis as i read the logo clockwise so was expecting the logo to be flipped horizontally. Just my crazy aspergers brain kicking in i’m afraid :)

Also noticed that the TSA/vertical has lost all the article images on Macbook Pro running safari

fixed.

Don’t like it, looks a mess. Prefer the older version where the newest article is at top.

Too many comments to read through to see if what I’m saying has already been said. But in case you go through all the feedback at some point, here is mine.
1. Thank you for making the mobile version optional by making a link to go to the desktop version.
2. How about making a link on the desktop version to go to the mobile version?
3. If i click the “More news” link in the “latest news” box I get sent to a news page. There are two oddities: The “main part” of the news page doesn’t have the same articles as the latest news box (or not in the same order), and the news page has it’s own “latest news” box which would be kind of redundant if the news page contained all the latest news as expected.
4. Too much motion when moving the mouse pointer across the page, why hide the “sub title or whatever it’s called” anyway?
5. Too many changes in layout (number of columns and/or width of columns changes a lot)
6. RSS feed still working. Thank you.
7. Vertical view is nice, and probably the best way for me to get an overview of what is new. Just scroll down looking at the headings, opening new tabs along the way, until I get to an article I’ve seen before.
8. The ad on the left that follows along as you scroll down overlaps with the bottom of the “trending topics” when you’ve begun to scroll just a bit. (chrome, opera and ie-10)
9. New layout has less wasted space on the sides (good), but doesn’t resize to narrower window but gives horizontal scroll bar instead (bad)
10. New logo is good.
Keep up the good work

I like the new look but as with every previous redesign I always prefer the old one to start with. Im sure i’ll get used to the layout and the blog view is very useful.
The rebranding to tsa makes sense as we all call it that anyway. Not sold on the new logo yet though, I kinda liked the old old one the best.
Best of luck to Al in his endeavors with JAW and to the other staff who are moving about or coming in.

Great job Peter and crew, very very slick and now works brilliantly on my phone aswell.
TSA is such an awesome site and now it’s even better, I really can’t understand how a site run as a hobby can manage to be far FAR better than the like of cvg, ign, and eurogamer in just about every way. Those guys should be ashamed of themselves!
It’s got to the point (for me) where visiting the site has become a daily ritual along with my morning coffee and dump
Thanks for being here guys/gals

Glad I’m not the only one! Facebook, TSA, Candy Crush, without fail lol.
The success and continued high quality really is testament to these guys. What they’ve all achieved is unbelievable!
