Angry Birds Kart Racer “Go” Revealed

Rovio Games, in collaboration with Red Bull, have announced Angry Birds Go, which appears to be a kart racer of sorts. Kalle Kaivola, Director of Development at Rovio Games has teased how the company considered “different concepts” such as the endless-runner, before choosing the direction of the next Angry Birds game.

In a video posted on Red Bull’s website, Kaivola talks about Rovio’s ‘eureka moment’ – how seeing a soap-box racer’s kart falling apart “felt right” for the series.

Rovio’s previous title, Bad Piggies, had you building all types of vehicles to complete puzzles and challenges, so expect to see that mechanic reused, and presumably littered with micro-transactions for the mobile market.

Further details are currently thin off the ground, but the company are “almost ready to share a release date and gameplay trailer”, so expect more information regarding Angry Birds Go soon.

  1. Sounds like it could be a fun game.

  2. I got a new phone in the last couple of weeks and do you know how many games I transferred from old to new phone…? None. The novelty of mobile gaming, certainly on my phone, has worn very thin with the excessive number of either pop-up ads or micro-transactions, it just doesn’t feel like that much fun.

Good luck to Rovio, I hope they find something to help sustain their massive initial momentum.
