So I’m back after Adam kindly covered for me last week, and what a week it’s been! There’s been loads of news and previews, hot off the press from Gamescom, so let’s get that covered in this week’s Community Round-Up!
Eurogamer’s annual gathering is just under a month away now, and Duffybox has a little competition for you all. He has two tickets for Saturday 28th of September, and these are the fancy Early Entry, All Day tickets too!
You’ve just got to imagine a scene where a video gamer character would be queuing up for a certain game at the Expo, and explain why they would be doing it. The most creative or funniest pairing of character and game will be the winner. You’ve only got until 23:59 tonight to get your entries in, so get going, if you haven’t done so already!
Sadly, there’s nothing planned for the TSA Meets currently, but hopefully we’ll see some Killzone bootcamp action or the usual Battlefield Meet appear in due time.
The Monday GT5 gathering tends to go ahead without a Meet being set up, so there’s always that if you’ve forgotten about it, and remember that you can always add your own Meet to the list, providing you’ve got more than 250 TSA Points.
Taking a look at the Reviews and Previews, let’s dive straight into Peter’s review of Rayman Legends. He gave the game an impressive 9/10, and it’s not hard to see why, especially with that gorgeous art style. Meanwhile, Dan gave Killer is Dead a slightly disappointing 5/10, citing poor camera work and other mediocre features, while on Mobile Watch, Jim looked at Runbot for iOS.
With Teflon swanning off to Cologne for Gamescom last week, there are no points for guessing who’s done 9 of this week’s 11 previews! Let’s hope his FPS skills were up to scratch, as he got stuck in with the multiplayer side of Call of Duty: Ghosts, and also had a go on arch rival Battlefield 4‘s multiplayer too. [They weren’t. I sucked. – Tef]
For future Xbox One owners, it looks like Titanfall is going to be an absolute gem, and will definitely be setting the benchmark high for Respawn’s first game. Fans of alternative history games have plenty to look forward to; Wolfenstein: The New Order is looking great, and don’t forget The Order: 1886, which has an impressive engine, even if the majority of the game itself is still under wraps.
Next, he donned the gloves for Real Boxing, which actually landed on the EU PS Store for Vita earlier this week. There’s also an interview with the developers, via Jim, if you’re interested in hearing more about what it was like making the transition from mobiles to Vita. After that, Tef strapped on his footie boots for a go on the next gen FIFA 14, although he sadly lost 1-0.
Following his defeat, he went hands on with Magicka: Wizard Wars, as well as looking at a load of indie titles in Indie Focus. Finally, he finished the week by looking at Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare. Concluding, he shared his thoughts about why he actually found Gamescom underwhelming, although judging by all the great games he got to see and play, it’s hard to see why!
Meanwhile, Jim broke out the toys for Disney Infinity and seemed thoroughly impressed with it, while Peter jumped in with some words about Spelunky for Vita, and why he thinks the genre and console suit each other perfectly.
There was no Chronicle last weekend, while Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale looks to be an unmatchable party game, with 10 Buy It votes in its WeView Verdict. Resident Evil 6 becomes the next game for you all to vote on.
Jim focused on Magic 2014 with the Sunday Spotlight, and revisited Lost Planet 2 in PlayBack. In the meantime, GregToo asked whether the PS4 and the next gen will improve Parental Controls, while Matter of Perspective looked at Spec Ops: The Line, courtesy of Aran. Peter finished up on Friday, by rattling off a Top Ten list of features he wants the next gen consoles to have.
Rounding things off, there’s What We Played #120 from Greg and Newsdesk Episode #10 from Josh, featuring loads of Gamescom news, as expected. Peter’s embargoes finished so there was also plenty to talk about on the Podcast this week, in Episode 110.

The Forums are looking nice and busy, with the usual style of TSA debates!
- With the release of GTA V just a few weeks away, a gang war has erupted in the Forums, with Mcphatty and Mike having set up rival gangs on Rockstars Social Club.
- I’m not entirely sure how Japan World Cup got a sequel, not once, but twice, in the hilarious video Bunimomike posts in Airou’s thread.
- On a more serious note, there’s discussion in my thread about the recent news regarding Syria.
- And lastly, tonycawley talks trophies, their pros and cons, and has some good discussion about what people like and don’t like with the system.
And there we have it! Quite a week it’s been, I’m sure you can agree. With the Autumn releases almost upon us, I can only assume TSA is going to get busier and better!
As always, I’ll be here ready to deliver your weekly Round-Up, so until next time, bye!

Yeah, gang war! Who needs morals when you’ve got GTA? It’s been another interesting week, I enjoyed reading about Real Boxing on the Vita. It’s not a game I’d buy but developer interviews about Vita games are really peaking my interest. Syria, now there’s a problem were definitely not gonna solve in general chat.

Nice roundup as always! Japan World Cup always amuses me, the combination of the passionate commentary and the ridiculous characters gets me right in the funnybone.
