An Onslaught Of Call Of Duty: Ghosts DLC Releasing On January 28th

Call of Duty: Ghosts’ first map pack, Onslaught, will release on January 28th according to a post on twitter from the development studio. This also included a link to a short Instagram teaser video for the new Extinction map.

The Nightfall map looks quite creepy but will also introduce a new type of fear for all of you arachnophobes, in the form of spiders. Not just any spiders, either, and certainly not the type you can step on – the twitter screenshot above shows just how huge they can grow.

Another four traditional multiplayer maps will be included in the pack, revealed as Bayview, Containment, Fog, and Ignition by a GameStop store display. There’s no word on what these will look like – expect a trailer soon – but MP1st brought it to attention that one of them could be a remake of Modern Warfare 2’s Scrapyard, as you can see in the image below. Or perhaps they’re just reusing assets again?

Along with these maps comes a new weapon, in the form of the Maverick AR & Sniper Rifle. There are very few details on that yet but it sounds like an interesting addition to the game.

Onslaught will release first on Xbox Live, which means PS3, PS4 and PC owners – as well as Wii U players if it makes it to the eShop – might have to wait until the end of February before playing. This will be priced at a little over a tenner individually or four DLC map packs can be bought in one go as part of the Season Pass.

Activision have now released a trailer, which you can see above.

  1. yikes, the pictures look a little pixelated. Good news for COD players I guess.

    • it was captured on the xbox one

    • It’s an extremely blown-up image from a photo of promotional display.

  2. Looking forward to the Extinction content, that mode is rather enjoyable.

    • Agreed. Its better than Zombies IMO as it actrually has an ending.

  3. Extinction mode is great fun. Nice spin on the repetitive COD gameplay. However, looking at that first screenshot I can’t help but think someone at activision has been playing Resistance…

  4. Not played a COD game since the first Black Ops, and I hated that. Picked up Ghosts on PS4 due to the negative press that Battlefield was getting. I must say I’m impressed. Most COD fun I’ve had since the first Modern Warfare game, surprisingly impressive.
