Community Round-Up: 03/05/14

With E3 just over a month away, things are hotting up nicely on TSA. While the usual leaks aren’t appearing just yet, I’ve got a feeling that this week we’ll see one or two things slip out from the shadows, or at least some tasty rumours!

Anyway, enough speculating about speculation, let’s get started with this week’s Community Round-Up.

Following the final matches of the group stage being completed this week, Peter got suited and booted for the live stream of the Round of 16 draw. If you’ve got through, you have until 6pm on Tuesday to complete your match, and as always, you can discuss the tournament in the forum thread.

Another quick reminder for those of you taking part in the Plus Points Challenge, you have until 6pm tomorrow to get your entries in for your Mercenary Kings speed run. Even if you’re not the fastest, it’s worth getting a quick go in just for a chance at the bonus points or the £10 PSN voucher prize draw!

The Meets are showing signs of life again, as after Monday’s usual GT6 Meet, there’s also a The Last of Us DLC meet at 8pm on Wednesday, hosted by Youles.

And as always, if neither of those takes your fancy, you can always create your own Meet, providing you have 250 TSA Points.

Starting with the Previews as we didn’t have any last week, Stefan spoke to Curve Studios about the upcoming Wii U exclusive, Stealth Inc. 2. He also spoke to Olli Harjola about The Swapper, which is soon to be arriving on PS3, PS4 and Vita after its highly acclaimed PC release last year.

Dan Lee teed off in the Reviews with his 8/10 for Mario Golf: World Tour for the 3DS, and also gave a 7/10 to  Kirby: Trible Deluxe, another 3DS game.

This weeks big hitter was Child Of Light, with 10/10. I think Aran must of had a great time, getting it all to rhyme, because his review was truly sublime!

And for the last review, Jim had a more difficult time of looking at War of the Vikings, for which he gave it a 3/10. He mostly disliked the fact that the sequel didn’t really offer any significant improvements, especially to the combat mechanics, but also felt lacking in terms of the amount of content and game modes on offer.

InFamous Second Son featured in a Matter of Perspective with Aran, while on Mobile Watch, Jim highly recommended Trials Frontier, before it was the turn of Metal Gear Solid 2 to be revisited in PlayBack.

There was quite a few blogs to see this week, four in fact! Following its conclusion, Stefan spoke about inFamous Paper Trail, while Jim returned to Helghan in Killzone Shadow Fall. Gareth discussed morality systems and the potential effects they can have, while Kris spoke about the ambiguous imaginary lines between marketing and journalism.

Considering Advance Warfare’s reveal this week, it was quite fitting that Call of Duty: Ghosts received a favourable Verdict, while the new WeView game for you is the PS4 exclusive, Knack.

In the Chronicle, alongside the usual achievements and trophy leaderboards, Hot Topics focused on GRID Autosport, PS4 FW 1.70 and the Xbox One’s latest sales figures.

Tidying stuff up in the usual way, there’s What We Played #154, featuring Rayman Legends, Stealth Inc. and Kubik, a game from Blair’s coursework. Kris was missing from Episode 139 of the Podcast, but that didn’t stop Lewis, Peter and Stefan having a good chinwag.

Just before we finish, let’s take a quick look at the Forums!

  • Roy reflects on his PS4 purchase, and asks if it has all been worth it?
  • Avenger has updated the screenshots thread with some lovely shots from GT6

That’s all there is for this week. I won’t be here next week or two as I’ve got my finals to be revising for, but I’m sure I’ll see you around soon. Bye!

  1. Great round up dude, just to add to the meets mention that Moto GP 13 Vita meets are in progress and awaiting final confirmation of times and days.
    Roy’s PS4 thread is a top read ;)
