Update: Bethesda has reacted to this story here.
Original Story:
The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of The Elder Scrolls Online may be delayed by six months, according to a quickly deleted note on the game’s FAQ page.
However, as this the internet nothing can ever be removed completely and quick thinking Reddit users grabbed a screenshot of the text.
The Elder Scrolls Online officially launched on April 4, 2014 on PC and Mac.While it has become clear that our planned June release of the console versions isn’t going to be possible, we have made great progress, we have concluded that we’ll need about six more months to ensure we deliver the experience our fans expect and deserve.
There was also a link which went to a broken blog post that promised to reveal more details of the delay. Reddit users are also reporting that “they are deleting posts and banning people who link to the FAQ post about the delay on their social media.”
Blair tried his hand at the PC version but found it rather lacking and gave up after a few weeks, you can read his experience of the game here, here and here.

My interest in this game has waned to the point that i actually thought it had already been released for console.

After reading Blair’s posts, trying the beta, and talking to a mate who got it (and was a massive TES fan previously) I have cancelled my pre-order. So dissapointed after Skyrim.
In fact, I kinda wish they’d just release a PS4 version of that.

it’ll probably have already gone free to play by then. ^_^
anyway, from what i’ve seen, this is no bad thing.
there seem to be so many things broken with the game as is, not just bugs and that, though it seems like there are loads of those.
but you can’t even do quests co-operatively.
they’re all phased, i think they call it, where each member of the party has to do their part of the quest on their own, and you can’t do them again so if you finish first you can’t go back help a team mate with their bit.
i don’t know if mobs are affected by this so combat might be shared.
but, that’s ridiculous for an MMO.
i was wondering how they would reconcile the single player nature of the usual Elder Scrolls game with an MMO.
it seems like they’ve made a substandard single player mode, compared to previous ES games, and put in a substandard multiplayer mode where you don’t truly play in the same world, what with all this phasing going on.
they even used the tired old, start out as a prisoner thing.
so there’s thousands of ex prisoners running around Tamriel thinking they’re the chosen one destined to save the world?
right. >_>
if you bought the game and that was it, that might be acceptable, but with a monthly fee.
make it free to play, or go with the Guild Wars model where you buy the game and play is then free, and i’ll be interested, but with the sub, no thanks.

Absolutely loving it. Enjoyed Oblivion (previously) and TESO has some wonderful “single-player” feeling to it. Hannypoppie and I have been constantly enthusing over how good it looks as well as the chained-together missions which makes things feel far more coherent than the nasty fetch-quests that open world games try to avoid.
Here’s a few screenshots I’ve taken:

However, I’m dying to get native controller support for the PC version but mouse and keyboard will do for now.

Those screenshots look quality, especially the sun-haze on the beach. Still not buying it until I’ve got bored of the PS3 single-player tho… It’ll be down to a fiver by then, hopefully ;)
