“There’s nothing to say that Black Ops 3 will be a futuristic title,” commented Kronik76 on this very site a few hours ago, “Hopefully BLOPS3 avoids those silly Exos,” added Nintendave.
Sorry chaps, looks like you are out of luck as website CharlieIntel has mined the Call of Duty website and found the following text.
Call of Duty®: Black Ops 3 is the first title for next-gen hardware in the critically acclaimed Black Ops series. Developed by Treyarch, the award-winning creator of the two most-played games in Call of Duty® history.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 deploys players into a dark, twisted future where a new breed of Black Ops soldier emerges and the lines are blurred between our own humanity and the technology we created to stay ahead, in a world where cutting-edge military robotics define warfare.
With three unique game modes: Campaign, Multiplayer and Zombies, providing fans with the deepest and most ambitious Call of Duty ever.
A promotional shot has also been discovered which resembles the cover of the first Black Ops game, albeit with a futuristic solider.

well at least they listened to their fans…
no wait sorry did you say futuristic black ops? thought the majority of codders would of wanted world at war 2.

There does seem to be a significant number of fans wanting a WW2 return (me included) but I have noticed on reddit and neogaf that for every WW2-wisher there is at least one other that states they’ll only buy the next iteration if it has exos and the same speed of movement…
Of course AW doesn’t go away when the next iteration launches so why they feel so entitled that they need a new identical title each year; and why Activision can’t cater for both sets by releasing a WW2 title and then supporting both streams concurrently with DLC for two years until the next new iteration I don’t know.

Oh. Ignore my comment in the other thread then too.

YES! Advanced Warfare’s Exo suits were a game changer and I can’t imagine the series without them now. That combined with Treyarch means it might be the best one yet.

I never got around to completing the BLOPS 2 campaign, didn’t feel compelled to do so. I really enjoyed BLOPS 1 and WaW campaigns from Treyarch, and I thought Advanced Warfare had some of the most refined gameplay in the series yet, close to COD4.
I’ll wait for some more details before coming interested, but this game will have huge competition in Star Wars Battlefront and Halo 5.

Futuristic or not, a confirmed zombie mode makes this a day one purchase for me!

I read through the above article and genuinely yawned. Perhaps I’m just tired.

You’d think Activision would want to seperate the sub-series, but no.
I probably won’t buy it anyway, they’d have to pull a new CoD4 for that to happen. Loved that game.

Exactly! It just gets worse and worse with each new version. Lets cram more and more nonsense into it and completely ruin what made it so special to begin with.
3 Kills UAV, 5 Airstrike and 7 Chopper…..thats what I want back…with no ridiculous Benny Hill speed sprinting, no stabbing people with stretch armstrong arms/tactical knife or any of the rest of it. Less is more as they say. Add at least an ounce of realism back into this arcade twitch shooter.
Zombies can do one as far as Im concerned too. It’s not why I’d look to buy a Call Of Duty. They should spend more time working on the Single player and MP …e.g fixing the broken spawn system that has been part of the series for god knows how long now.
I’d give my left nut for a COD4:MW PS4 Edition
Kronik76
While you don’t buy COD for zombies, a lot of people, including myself, do. I can understand it’s not everyone’s cup of tea though. To be honest I’m surprises that zombies hasn’t been released as a game in its own right. That would allow them to invest more time in the full release as you suggested.

All I want is a good WWII game. There were loads on the PS2 and a couple on the PS3.
Make it happen. Tell some true stories. Give real people a tribute and make a great, gritty and realistic WW2 game.
It doesn’t even have to be a CoD game..anyone. Just do it.
