Even though it was only a four day week, it seemed to drag on a bit didn’t it? Maybe that’s just because I was looking forward to the weekend so much, as we’ve got F1 visiting Monza and the last few warm-up matches before this year’s Rugby World Cup.
It was also a pretty important week in the world of gaming, as the much anticipated Metal Gear Solid V was released to a lot of fanfare, despite a rough few months in the run up to release for the game.
So, let me know your highlight of the week or weekend, as we start this week’s Community Round-Up!
Looking at the Meets, chances are that Monday will see the usual Project CARS meet, with the odd Rocket League or GTA V Meet thrown in elsewhere.
If you’d rather play something else, you can add your own Meet to the list, provided you have more than 250 TSA Points.

Though there were a lot of reviews, we only had a couple of previews this week. I looked at Bounty Train, a game set on the railroads of 19th century America, while Dom looked at Animal Crossing: Happy Homes Designer, which lets you release the interior designer within you.
From the reviews, Madden NFL 16 and Super Mario Maker were our top games of the week, with both being awarded a 9/10 from Dom and Blair respectively. Tearaway Unfolded, which brings Media Molecule’s Vita title to PS4 was given an 8/10, showing that ports from the handheld can work when done correctly.
We next had four games that all sat on 7/10’s. Jim brought us three of them; Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls, Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence, and One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3. That left us the Mega Man Legacy Collection from Dave, and Red Goddess: Inner World, which Aran gave a 4/10, thanks in part to compatibility issues with Windows 10.
Our last reviews, although unscored, was firstly for Dishonored: Definitive Edition. If you’ve played the original, then Aran says there isn’t really much for you here, but if you’re yet to experience Dunwall, then it’s certainly worth picking up. Secondly, Stefan brought us an idea of how Mad Max plays in his (fury) road to review.
The PSP celebrated it’s 10th birthday this week, and Jim and the staff reminisced about the wonderful handheld, before turning over to your views in the open forum. Meanwhile, Kris blogged about how to successfully make mobile games from their console counterparts, and Stefan brought us an example of just that, with I Am Bread on iOS being the “most accessible and the fun version” of the game.
Last week’s Chronicle looked at the disappointing PS+ offerings, Rise of the Tomb Raider Collectors Edition, and YouTube Gaming.
As we finish, Dave stepped in for Lewis in Episode 192 of the Podcast, and What We Played #219 featured Metal Gear, Mad Max, and Until Dawn.

Time to check in on the Forums before we finish:
- Unsurpsingly, there’s a lot of chat in the Metal Gear Solid V thread
- The Films thread also includes updates for the Man from UNCLE, and Straight Outta Compton
- And Mcphatty re-awakens the Stabbings and Rain thread
I hope you enjoy your weekend, and I’ll be here again next week – see ya!

My highlight of the year so far is the outstanding Metal Gear Solid V! Very impressive.
The forums are bubbling away nicely, still quiet but by no means dead. Lonesteven is active and hasn’t had to put an I’m Back thread up in a while, which is a small blessing for us all! (Love you Steven!) and Mr Bunimomike reappaeared but then has vanished again. Come on mate, we need more filth. Anyone else who reads this please post some rubbish in there, bugger quality we want quantity :)
