The EU PlayStation Store’s January Sale Is Now Underway

Yesterday it was Xbox Store and Steam, and today it’s the EU PlayStation Store off a big year ending sale with a broad range of discount for you to sift through. So broad, in fact, that the EU blog doesn’t list them all, but just a small fraction of them.

You need to head to the store itself to browse the reduced prices anyway – this still annoys me about the EU blog – with a number of games having an addition discount if you’ve got a PlayStation Plus subscription. Many of the offers run until January 20th, but some finish on the 6th.

Of particular note, there’s a lot of PSVR games on offer. RIGS, Battlezone and EVE: Valkyrie are at £34.99, and though that’s nowhere near Amazon’s current £24.99 pricing, that’s a damn sight better than £50! Driveclub VR is down to £16, though, and you should look to smaller titles like Headmaster, 100ft Robot Golf, and Sports Bar VR. The stupid thing is that PSVR doesn’t have its own category in the sale on the browser compatible store, but is instead bundled in with PS4 games.

With too many games to skim through and compare, here’s the EU PS Blog’s list of some of the included titles:

PS4

Indie/Digital only

DLC

PlayStation VR

  1. Been waiting for a sale on Salt and Sanctuary. Will pick it up on my next payday.

  2. Must resist temptation!

It won’t happen, especially as someone owes me £30 of Amazon vouchers that could easily be turned into PSN credit should I need to.

Rocket League DLC is obviously a strange experiment in pricing. £1.01 possibly stands out more than £0.99, but has the disadvantage of looking much more than 2p more expensive.

Anyone else in the annoying situation of not being able to take advantage of some offers because loved ones may be buying them for christmas? Would christmas day be ruined by the words “Awww, thankyou. Now just let me download the things you didn’t buy me?”.

    • You should probably try being a tiny bit more subtle than that, yes.

      • Yeah, I might try the “let me just make some room for more food” trick and disappear into the bathroom with my phone and buy things from there and start them downloading remotely.

  3. Excellent timing..! Just when I’m about to retreat into the Alps taking my Vita along, several games for it go on sale – Steins Gate, Zero Time Dilemma, etc. Very good..! :o)

  4. Looks like the first 3 Battlefront DLCs are currently free, that’s got to be a mistake? Get them quick!! Very annoyed that I bought the season pass earlier in the week when I could’ve got 3/4 of it for free, ah well.

    • It’s probably because you bought the season pass that they’re free, otherwise it’s likely a mistake.

      • I just had the season pass thing pointed out to me by my 12 year old nephew, he thinks I’m an idiot! Sorry for getting all excited over nothing.

  5. Darkest dungeon is the stand out one for me! Bought at launch and played non stop.

  6. Well, after receiving the email pushing the Jan sale highlights plus the 10% discount code decided to add BF1, Dirt Rally and Mad Max to the cart.

Fifty quid in total after discount code….can’t grumble at that stocking filler! ;)

    • Hi, could you please let us know how to obtain a 10% discount code?

  7. Anyone played hitman? Worth it for £24? I didn’t bother with the episodic thing at the time, but I’m tempted at that price.

  8. Ah… who needs food or toilet roll or alcohol. Oh hang on, I’ve got drink. *ADDS EVERYTHING TO BASKET* It’s beans for dinner all January for me but I will have all the lovely games.

  9. Would buy Tomb Raider, but SE can take a hike. They sold PS4 owners down the river and backed the wrong horse

  10. There’s a flash sale similar to this going on in the US right now, the overwhelming temptation to buy everything I want and put myself in crippling debt is real.
