News Snatch: Battleborn, Bound, Birthdays, And Boobs

Well smother me in custard and call me Beryl, if it’s not the first News Snatch of 2017! Woohoo! The new, improved, News Snatch features exclusive interviews with developers, free downloads, competitions, and live streaming of the most popular games!

Oh. Wait. No. Sorry. Apparently we didn’t get the budget for that, so News Snatch will be the same hodge-podge of patch notes, silly videos, and press releases that fell down the back of my desk. In which case, lets start with what we do best – videos for mad Japanese games –  in this case Musou Stars which is one it’s way to PS4 and PS Vita.

Super Mario Run for Android launches in March, it’s one of my favourite games as it lets you touch up a plumber.

Staying with short-arses with dubious facial hair, following a period of exclusivity with Games Workshop stores last year, Lord Grombrindal is now available for all Total War: Warhammer players to download for free.

Free to play RPG thing, Path of Exile, will be making its console debut on Xbox One later this year. It will include all the content up to update 3.0.

PlayStation VR ballerina puzzle-sim-thing, Bound, is getting an update on January 24th.

Main features:

  • New VR camera options added.
  • Some stability issues addressed.

New features:

  • Smooth VR Camera Mode in which the camera is moving together with the character and the player can smoothly rotate it with a right stick, but cannot zoom in and out. This mode is designed for experienced VR users.
  • Alternate VR Camera option is now changed into Stationary 1 and Stationary 2 VR Camera Modes. These are recommended for users looking for a comfortable VR experience.
  • VR Camera Height option – determines if looking up and down impact VR camera height after zooming in and out. Applies only to Stationary 1 and Stationary 2 VR Camera Modes.
  • VR Camera Blinks option – determines if camera cuts are handled with a black blink, which is recommended for comfortable VR experience.

Fixes:

  • Random crashes on Trees and Pearls levels should not occur anymore.

Some of the Arcade Archive collection which is already available on PS4 and Xbox one will be heading to Nintendo Switch, namely Waku Waku 7, Shock Troopers, World Heroes Perfect and Metal Slug 3.

During the recent CES a new controller was shown which could be used with Nintendo consoles. It’s slightly clunkier than the Joy-Cons you get with Switch as it uses a coffee table as base. Oh, and it will cost you about $500.

If a coffee table sized controller is not your thing, Xbox Australia have huge inflated Xbox One controllers on offer.

Pre-ordering Resident Evil 7 Biohazard in Belgium will get you a delightful bonus – adult diapers for those extra scary moments.

Super Bomberman R on Nintendo Switch will cost £49.99. The last Bomberman game on PS3 cost less than a tenner.

It wouldn’t be Snatch if we didn’t have Dev Diary so here is Yasuhiro Wada talking about Birthdays The Beginning which is coming to PS4 and PC.

And it also wouldn’t be a Snatch if we didn’t include some Improbable Boobs! Yay! Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash is our first NSFW trailer of year, highlighting some bonus DLC for the game. But mostly boobs. And ass. And panties.

The huge update for Battleborn which was previewed recently is now live. Battleborn. Battle. Born. No? Bit like Overwatch but less great? Anyone? Anyone at all?

And Finally, the trailer for Super Mario Odyssey gets the inevitable remake using Grand Theft Auto IV.

BONUS! Barfing whilst wearing a PSVR helmet is probably a bad idea!

  1. I came here for boobs. There was boobs. I rate the first Snatch of 2017 10/10. Tuffcub delievered on his promises.

Oh and ass. Panties. Both free and not DLC.

That giant coffeetroller is well, crap. Who thought “Hmm, i don’t like using a normal controller. I know, I create the bastard offspring of a coffee table and controller.” Obviously, someone did do that but still, why? Why spend 500 bucks(presumably, £500 as well) on something that is probably going to get old quickly and not really fun to play. It doesn’t look like it’s fun to use. I would make a joke about it being huge but politics and it being a bit too current means I best not.

Same with MS inflatable controllers. At least, their onesie(Urgh…) did something.

Something something, expensive, Nintedo. I’ve given up on the Switch and commenting until there is something that I can be positive about.

Battleborn, was it that FPS that had the unfortunate timing and got overshadowed, not once, but twice? Shame as that had real potential and Overwatch having a rival would keep it interesting. (Plus, more porn.)

  2. I liked Battleborn but it’s proven to be a huge gaffe releasing alongside Overwatch.

    • I think neither side expected Overwatch to become the most successful FPS of 2016 and was a bit too late when they realised their mistake.

  3. Path of Exile was quite fun on the PC. How to do F2P properly. It does, however, have the most insane skill tree possible. Bit like the sphere grid from Final Fantasy 10, but with over 1000 skills to unlock.

They need to do a PS4 version, not just an XBone version. Because (a) I’ve got a PS4, and (b) the complaints they’ve had for daring to do a console version are hilarious and would only get more amusing with more versions.

  4. Birthdays The Beginning sounds intriguing, some kind of evolutionary management sim from what i can gather.

    • He’s the creator of Harvest Moon so that might give you an idea of what to expect. My wife, for one, is very excited.
