FoxNext Games, part of 21st Century Fox, has bought developers Cold Iron and they’re working on a new game set in the Alien universe. The only details revealed that that is a shooter and it will be coming to consoles and PC.
The Cold Iron staff had previously worked on titles such as Borderlands, Bioshock Infinite and Doom, and they all will transition to FoxNext Games. FoxNext itself will also be moving and heading over to Disney as part of the huge deal that was agreed recently. Disney have had rather troubled time with in house game development, starting up teams and then shutting down the whole operation many times previously.
“I am a personal fan of Cold Iron’s previous work, and all of us at FoxNext Games are thrilled to be working with them as they create an action-packed persistent world, steeped in the mysteries of this beloved ‘Alien’ universe,” Aaron Loeb, FoxNext Games president of studios, said in announcing the deal.
The last Alien game was the well received Alien: Isolation, but the less said about Colonial Marines the better.
