The Castings For Ciri And Yennefer Have Been Confirmed For The Witcher Series

We already know that Henry Cavill will be taking on the role of Geralt of Rivia for Netflix’s The Witcher series, but there has been speculation about who else would be joining him on the cast list. Well we now know who will be playing the parts of Ciri and Yennefer. Freya Allan will be taking on the role of Geralt’s adopted daughter Ciri, while Anya Chalotra will be the sorceress Yennefer.

They’re not the only characters to have been cast though with the rest of the list below:

  • Jodhi May as Queen Calanthe
  • Bjorn Hlynur Haraldsson as the knight Eist
  • Adam Levy as the druid Mousecack
  • MyAnna Buring as Tissaia
  • Millie Brady as Princess Renfri
  • Mimi Ndeweni as a sorceress
  • Therica Wilson-Read as a sorceress

The Witcher series is looking more to the books as inspiration than the games, though will have its own unique additions. Filming is yet to begin for the series.

From the heady days of the Mega Drive up until the modern day gaming has been my main hobby. I'll give almost any game a go.

  1. Glad common sense prevailed with regards to Ciri’s casting. Although, I’d have loved to have seen Eva Green (albeit possibly a younger version by a handful of years) play Yennefer. Visually, so very striking with a very similar look.

  2. Very exciting news. For me the biggest news is that Renfri is in it. Her short story is incredible – she’s the “real” version of Snow White, but she’s a cursed psychopathic outlaw. It’s so cool!

Great that they’ve cast a Swiss guy for Eist Tuirseach. I think they should make Skellige a Slavic race rather than the Irish we got in the games.

Still lots of roles to be confirmed, notably Triss, Vilegfortz and Dandelion/Jaskier.

    I’m stoked for this.
