The Sun’s showing its face again in the south of the UK, but I’m not really ready to forgive it yet. Beyond my natural dislike of being too warm, there’s the plight that it’s been putting Europe through the last few weeks, and I think it’s a bit of cheek to turn up again and be all hot and bright.
It’s felt like a quieter week in video games on the news front, but that’s been more than made up for by a slew of great games releasing, including one with a handsome ginger cat. Let’s catch up on the week in gaming.

It fell on my shoulders to deliver a bunch of previews this week, and started things off by diving into Halo Infinite’s campaign co-op with Dom, finding that, as is so often the case, playing with a friend makes pretty much every game better.
Following that jaunt on a Halo, I then reported in on all the pitchside developments coming to FIFA 23. EA’s final FIFA-branded game is set to be their broadest game to date, set to include two world cups, women’s leagues for the first time, and significant changes to Ultimate Team.
Then it was off to the streets where Saints Row is making a resurgent comeback with a brand new look and origin story, but with plenty of the same audacious attitude of later games in the original series.
Jim asks if Ghost of Tsushima 2 should replace Jin Sakai as its protagonist, and we rounded out the week with What We Played featuring Stray, As Dusk Falls and Halo Infinite co-op.

Here’s what you in our community have been up to this week:
- When not melting in the heat willbuchanan played more of Lego Star Wars: The Clone Wars, aiming to snap up the platinum this weekend.
- And even though he could hear his PS5s fans for the first time, MrYd plugged away at the various games he’s been playing the last few weeks. A second playthrough of Man of Medan led to an improved Little Hope, before he played Stray and wondered a little about what all the fuss was about.
Have a great weekend and we’ll catch you on the other side!

Someone had a bit of a copy and paste accident there, did they? My encounter with my nemesis, the pepper, was 2 weeks ago! My thumb has recovered, but I have since moved on to stabbing myself in the next finger along yesterday. At this rate, I’ll have sliced open every finger by christmas.

Oops. Sorry if my copy paste mistake jinxed you, somehow…

I hadn’t considered that, but now you mention it… Are you some sort of witch?
