Something for the Weekend – 30/07/22

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Battle Header

The Commonwealth Games kicked off this week with plenty of action to enjoy, and combined with the fact that the high heat has let up slightly, it’s been a rather pleasant end to July.

August looks to continue that trend, and there will be some great games releasing to compliment it, like F1 Manager, Spider-Man Remastered on PC and Two Point Campus – but before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s recap this past week!

We’re still in a relatively quiet period for new games, but our standout game of the week is one that a lot of people have been looking forward to.

It was a busier week for the previews, however. Miguel started things with a look at the refreshingly unique beat-‘em-up Dusk Diver 2, as Jim previewed the Medjay, the new Egyptian hero in For Honor.

Meanwhile, Stefan looked at the bloody Rollerdrome, which looks perfect for someone who wants wants to play a fast-paced shooter where you’re also on roller-skates. Following this, he revisited Hard West 2 ahead of its release next week, and also found that DECEIVE INC. blends stealth, action, and social deduction nearly perfectly in this high stakes multiplayer heist game.

Rounding off the week, What We Played featured Stray, The Quarry & Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

Here’s what you in our community have been up to this week:

  • willbuchanan continues his LEGO binge, getting the platinum for LEGO Star Wars 3 Clone Wars and making headway with LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. And with Ubisoft closing down some multiplayer services, time is ticking to get the multiplayer trophies in Assassin’s Creed 3, Brotherhood and Revelations.
  • MrYd continued to journey through the PS Plus game library, adding House of Ashes and Ghostwire: Tokyo on top, and then casting MultiVersus to one side after deciding the best thing about it is that it’s free…
  • And Andrewww has been subjected to some absurd board games by his family while on holiday, with his video game refuge being Zero Time Dilemma on his trusty PS Vita.

I hope you have a great week and I’ll catch you soon!
