Alongside this haul of reviews, I dove in and returned to some of the games being upgraded from the original PSVR or with PSVR 2 support added in an update. Starting off with GT7 in PSVR 2 the overall experience of driving is fantastic, and it’s great to have across the board in the game, but there’s a good few ways that I feel Polyphony could improve everything surrounding that.
Freshly upgraded from their original releases on PSVR, Rez Infinite and Tetris Effect: Connected are still all-time classics on PSVR 2, incorporating some fun new twists like headset rumble and eye-tracked aiming.
Speaking of eye-tracking, I also put together a quick explainer for what foveated rendering is, and why it can make PSVR 2 streams blurry.
Finally, What We Played included Horizon Call of the Mountain & lots more PSVR 2.

- MrYd leapt into PSVR 2, coming away impressed by the new hardware and enjoying his early forays into GT7, Kayak VR, Puzzling Places, Pistol Whip, Synth Riders and more. The odd one out is really Pavlov VR, which controlled a bit weird in his opinion.
- And Andrewww was eventually swayed to grab PSVR 2 as well. Strangely he found the headset to be a bit less comfortable and headache-inducing, and he had plenty of complaints about battery life and the PS5 UI. Mixed first impressions, in other words, but hopefully more games can impress him as he explores day one line up.
Right. That’s all for this week, so enjoy your weekend and we’ll see you again soon!

Pavlov seems to have fixed one of the main issues with an update already. Guns were pointing at weird angles if you tried to steady them with your left hand (or right if you’re one of those people). It’s possibly trying to be a bit too realistic, but I’m loving it now. Having to reload manually gets a bit stressful, but it’s quite funny when it turns into a race to see how can reload first and shoot the other person in the face. Especially if you just whip your knife out and stab them instead. And it does look very good. With people actually talking because they’re all still getting the hang of things.
Definitely recommended, if you’re prepared for a bit of a learning curve at the start.
