It’s something like the 17th heatwave with barely any breaks between, which makes it feel quite daft that all our phones went nuts to warn people not to set stuff on fire just last night. Aside from that being common sense, shouldn’t that message have come weeks ago?
But that was a serious note that undercut a rather fun and silly week where it felt (to me at least) that half the country spent Wednesday night running around with colanders to safely witness as much of the solar eclipse that we had in the UK.

Games in Review & Featured Articles
Just a pair of reviews on the site this week, because we had exciting upcoming Star Wars games to talk about instead!
- Final Fantasy XIV for Switch 2 – NSW2 – 9/10
- Duskfade – PS5, XSX|S, NSW2, PC – 7/10
I did also make a start on Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, though, this large scale FPS jumping from the WW2 setting of the original.
It was really the Star Wars double-whammy that stood out this week. Star Wars: Zero Company is the XCOM-alike, which Dom really enjoyed playing, and then Star Wars: Galactic Racer, where I had a great time with the single player of this arcade racer and its unusual structure.
Getting more tactical action in than he could sensible shake a stick at, Dom also previewed Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, which is shaping up to be amongst the series’ very best.
Speaking of bests, Reu joined his Switch 2 review with a look back on Final Fantasy XIV’s Arcadion, which is some of his favourite raiding in the MMORPG, and I then had the chance to put a cat among the witches with a hands on preview for 1666: Amsterdam.
And we wrap up for the week with What We Played featuring Sephiria, Genshin Impact & Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave.
