Community Round-Up: 21/09/13

It’s Freshers Week at many a University around the country, and it would seem that Gazza has got a little too enthusiastic with the liquid bread… so it has fallen to me to handle the round-up this week.

CRU Banner - comps gta

There’s no new competitions this week, but a little housekeeping, as we announced this week the winner to the GTA V giveaway. The lucky member was Pixl1983, who’s copy should hopefully already be with him.

That being all for the competitions, and with no meets set up for the next week right now – set up meets, people! – we’ll skip over to the articles.

CRU2 WindWaker

Seems like quite a quiet week on the reviews front, with Blair giving that GameCube Zelda game update, Wind Waker HD, a 10/10, and Peter revisiting an old game series from the 90s, giving Grand Theft Auto V another 10/10. Which means the reviews this week have a perfect 20 out of 20. Most impressive, but GTA isn’t for everyone, and Ash is rather indifferent to the whole kerfuffle.

I’ve been keeping myself busy writing up another bunch of previews, but Tuffcub muscled in at the end of the week, taking a look at the PS Vita and PS3 versions of Lone Survivor: The Director’s Cut. I kicked off the week by looking at DriveClub and The Crew, two of the new racing franchises for the next generation, while Stronghold Crusader II looks to revive the series for a new generation of players (and the old one, too).

Peggle 2 polishes the modern classic to a new sheen, whilst Ubisoft Sofia are pushing their own game to new heights in Assassin’s Creed: Liberation HD. Ubisoft’s also been making good use of the Ubi Art Framework, letting their developers explore pastures green in Child of Light and Valiant Hearts, and pushing a trio of new mobile titles as Rayman Rabbids and Assassin’s Creed all get their shot in Mobile Watch.

Mobile Watch also took a look at the latest Angry Birds game, Angry Birds Star Wars II, and Indie Focus decided to take a refocus in the week of GTA V, and covered the 9th Humble Bundle instead. Playback also took on GTA, but looking at Grand Theft Auto IV.

The Community Chronicle saw me unboxing a bunch of Kit Kats, because nobody ha sent me any photos, and WeView came back from a week off, to look at Spec Ops: The Line. What We Played hit the delightful number of #123, and with no new podcast, we finish off with a look at last week’s news with NewsDesk #13.

What’s been going on the forums this week? Well, to start with..

That looks like your lot for this week. I’m sure Gazza will have sobered up by next week, so you can look forward to his return then.
