This week saw the beginning of TSA’s regular end of year content, looking back over 2013, and ahead to 2014. We’re not doing the traditional ‘Top 100 of 2014’ this year, but read on and you’ll find out what we are doing, in this week’s Community Round-Up!
We’ve had two great competitions on TSA this week. Firstly, we had 5 W.A.R kits for DUST 514 to give away. These kits contain loads of gear essential to the battlefield, and they’d set you back £16.99 if you bought them off the PSN Store. The five winners were posted earlier today.
We’re also giving away two Defiance Collectors Editions, which include the PS3 version of the game, art book, soundtrack, DEFI stickers, postcards, a VBI contract and best of all a Hellbug figurine. Also included are some-in game items and XP boosters which will surely come in handy. It’s simple to enter, just add a comment to the article also before 11pm on Monday, or tweet @thesixthaxis with the hashtag #TSADefiance.
Sadly, both the Defiance competition is open to UK readers only, but we’ll announce all the random winners on the Tuesday.
There’s two Meets set-up right now, firstly Motalla has a GT5 Meet tonight at 6pm, while Monday’s usual GT6 meet takes place at 7pm, hosted by Tomhlord.
If Gran Turismo isn’t your thing though, you can add your own Meet to the list, if you’ve got more than 250 TSA Points.
The only Review this week came from Blair, who looked at The Walking Dead Season 2’s Episode 1, called “All That Remains”. Giving it a 7/10, he describes it as “a good, engaging and emotional experience”, however it doesn’t quite live up to the high bar set by episodes from Season 1.
While the Reviews and Previews may have been lacking, there was still plenty of other content. Peter then blogged about segregated equality at PAX, while Shadows of the Damned featured in a Matter of Perspective from Arran, and Tuffcub spoke to Steven Ogg, aka Trevor from GTA V.
On the community side of things, the Chronicle featured discussion about VGX, Zavvi and EA’s Battlefield 4 lawsuit, while also giving you your regular trophy updates. Adam then collated a selection of your memories of a generation in Parts 1 and 2, while the voting for Community Game of the Year opened.
As I said at the start, this week also saw the beginning of TSA’s end of year content, although it differs slightly to the regular articles we’ve enjoyed over the previous years. There’s been several articles on ‘Ones to Watch‘, varying from the usual yearly franchises down to the indie titles coming in 2014.
Looking back at 2013, TSA has been announcing it’s Games of the Year for the categories; Mobile, Strategy or Simulation, Sports and Racing, and Indie. You can use this page here to keep up to date with them, and take a look at our review of the year as we go back over each month in turn.
Ending in the usual way, there’s Episode 123 of the Podcast, Newsdesk #26 from Josh, and What We Played #136 from Greg.

The Forums are looking busy as usual, so let’s take a look!
-
DividSmythe wants to know your Xbox Live Gamertags after picking up an XBO recently.
-
Shadow_lawless asks if the openness in Killzone Shadow Fall is good or bad?
- Teflon’s GT6 guide is seeing quite a bit of discussion, while Tomhlord has a thread for Monday night’s meet.
The Round-Up will be taking a week or two off now, as TSA and the gaming industry quieten down for the holidays. I’ll also be busy tramping up and down the country, visiting relatives and adding to my sock drawer no doubt.
So, all that’s left for me to say is have a good Christmas and I’ll see you in the New Year!
