Driveclub’s Clubs And Challenges Detailed, Plus Some Night Gameplay

Since announcing the release date, Sony have really picked up the pace with the Driveclub information. We’ve found out about the PS+ edition earlier this week, with the company U-turning on the PS+ requirement when upgraded earlier today.

Now, they’re looking at specific features of the game, first with the titular clubs themselves:

That describes everything about clubs, including details on the origins of the name. This seems like a form of co-operative play, where everything you do helps each other. The second video, though, describes the more competitive aspects, with face-offs and challenges.

Again, they go quite back far in time in yet another quirky video, but get their point across quite well. It’s all about specific sections of the tracks, rather than the entire race, for example. You’re also able to create specific and tailored challenges, which you can send to your friends.

These sound like good social features, and it’s clear that the game is built around these aspects. Hopefully it all comes together quite well in the final game and it’s all displayed easily enough to digest. Finally, IGN have uploaded a gameplay video, which shows driving by headlights:

Looks great.

  1. Want this so bad!

  2. TSA could have a pretty talented club line up from my experiences with TSAians during online race meets!
I’ve probably missed it but has it been stated yet whether there’s an in game pause function with it being such a socially focused game or has it gone down the NFS Rivals route and left that important factor out?
