There’s been a crisp bite to the morning air this past week, as autumn really settles in across the UK. Between that and the general dismay at what we’re seeing in the non-gaming headlines, there’s plenty of excuses to want to distract yourself with some video games.

Elsewhere, I delved into the Early Access release of Slime Rancher 2, finding the initial offering to be largely in-line with what we’d seen before, setting the foundations for other content to come. Also on the Early Access train, Dom enjoyed the Farthest Frontier’s take on survival city building.

I previewed the ‘kids on bikes’-themed sequel Kingdom Eightiesand Nic enjoyed his look at Beneath the Woods, an indie title with some Resident Evil  puzzle mansion vibes.

Rounding things out, What We Played featured Return to Monkey Island, WRC Generations and FIFA 23.

Here’s what you in our community have been up to this week:

  • Continuing his charge through a multiplayer trophy grab, willbuchanan played Dead or Alive 5, LittleBigPlanet3 and Watch Dogs 2. He also hopped into Lego The Hobbit on PS Vita and finished the main story of Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood on PS3. There’s plenty of gaming and trophy hunting planned for this weekend too!
  • With an easy platinum to get at the end, Andrewww played through Telltale’s Batman: Enemy Within
