its come to my attention there is very little point checking the psn these days unless you own rockband or like watching videos…. heh

Dude the last few weeks have been top notch with content. And this week if you were looking forward to linger in shadows like I am then this is also a good week.

October 9th, 2008 at 2:06 pm
the only thing ive downloaded recently is a demo for a game i played over a year ago (Bioshock) but to be fair ive heard good things about wipeout
wolfehound22 Says:
October 9th, 2008 at 2:52 pm
Well it all does depend on your choice. Ive DL Wipeout, and a ton of demos. Plus I will be getting linger in shadows. Also if I didn;t already have Burnout I would of got that, so for my choices these few weeks have been top notch, but of course if non of that appeals to you then I can understand why you can say there has been nothing.
October 9th, 2008 at 2:02 pm
Can anyone tell me if Linger in Shadows is any good? It looks… interesting.
Pixl1983 Says:
October 9th, 2008 at 2:10 pm
I think that’s one of those un-answerable questions.
It’s an interactive art experience that shows off all sorts of graphical trickery and/or wizardry. With trophies.
If you’re looking for a game, look elsewhere.
If you like fancy graphics and effects, check it out.
stefhutch20 Says:
October 9th, 2008 at 2:17 pm
I might just do that - trophies and the £1.99 price are certainly appealing.
wolfehound22 Says:
October 9th, 2008 at 2:54 pm
ya I will definattly be geting it. Like you said it looks interesting. But it is cheap and offers trophies so I will put up a few bucks to try it. NOw if it was more expensive I may think twice.

So has anyone actually bought this? I’m old enough to remember the Amiga demo scene so I’m slightly curious. Probably not curious enough to spend money on it though.
Plus I can’t help thinking that having trophies for this would immediately identify me as a saddo of epic proportions.

Tempted to get it. There’s nothing wrong with being a pretentious artsy-fartsy nob once in a while. Although, i would be breaking TSA rules…
October 9th, 2008 at 2:21 pm
Grrr… now I’m sitting here at work, wishing I was at home downloading the Valkyrie Chronicles. Been waiting for that game for ages.

Was bollocks then I dont think it would have gotten any better…
October 9th, 2008 at 4:15 pm
To be honest I was expecting a really poor update after the last few weeks being so good (and I wouldn’t have cared much if it was) but we got a demo for a new game and the Linger thing. I think in the US your only getting that demo if your subbed to Qore as well so not bad.
Glad to see PSN maturing now, I’m hoping the likes of Wipeout and Burnout are the real springboards to getting a consistent stream of quality on here (there has been quality before, its just been a bit here and there).
October 9th, 2008 at 4:28 pm
Nothing of much interest. I hope Linger In Shadows doesn’t turn out to be good, I’ve been slagging it off for ages but now I’m tempted by it’s price.
A couple of videos that will pass a few minutes and a demo for a universally criticised game that I couldn’t even get my wife to have a go at. And she loves hippos.
I don’t own Rock Band on account of being able to play a real guitar and not wanting to play a game whih is basically Parappa the Rappa but with a really awkward controller but if I did the Red Hot Chili Peppers stuff would be downloading right now.

A quick snippet from wiki about Linger in Shadows
“The interactive part initially only lets the user to explore the first fifth of the demo, and the user has to perform various actions with the SIXAXIS to unlock the next part, such as shaking the controller or holding it in a certain angle. The scenes also feature hidden greetings to a number of known demogroups, which can be found in more obscure areas of the demo. Unlocking parts of the demo (”sigils”) as well as finding hidden greetings both reward the user with trophies”

All power to SCEE for the Valkyria Chronicles demo
In the US you have to subscribe to Qore to get it, unless US users have an EU account, and they can just download it like we can theirs

The demo will get a general release in the US a few weeks before the game comes out (just like demos for every other game). In the EU we got it now because the game is coming out here first.
