Shooter. Kinda has a ring to it now, I guess, although I much prefered my name: PixelJunk Nofi. Whatever, it’s out on the 24th of December in Japan, priced at ¥1200 (roughly £8). The game will feature the ability to take screenshots, save movies (and upload them to YouTube) and like all good PixelJunk games will feature PSP Remote Play.

No word on a European date yet.

  1. “No word on a European date yet.”

    Sadness.

    • Yea nofi work some magic, charm some people and get us a EU release date :P

Seriously though it’s good to see that they are trying to make it for when people open their new PS3’s on Christmas day :)

  2. I’m assuming it’ll release here in time for Christmas, but judging by SCEEs track record, I’m talking about Christmas next year.

Looks like I won’t be getting it unless I somehow get it for free, which is unlikely.
And I still hate the name ‘Shooter’. Seriously.

    • At least it’s a punchy name. Unlike Escape from the Planet of the Robot Monsters. :D

      • I would buy any game called Escape from the Planet of the Robot Monsters, regardless of it’s quality, just so I could say ‘I bought Escape from the Planet of the Robot Monsters’.

      • It had the funkiest 24KB game music ever! Aural meth!

      • EftPotRM was a GREAT game, played it in the arcades and owned the Amiga version, and now the music is stuck in my head!

  3. Gravity Crash today, PJ Shooter in a month’s time. Seriously… what a great time this is. Hell, even Sony’ll start making money on each console over the coming months. Major w00tage.

    • I agree. Can’t wait for PJ Shooter!

  4. Not only on PSN though..Great, great, great games coming or just came on Blu ray too. (Dante’s Inferno, ACII, Modnation, GT5, FF Fabula Nuova and so many more..)

    • I know, too many games and too little time to play them!!! ;)

  5. I’d prefer it on my PSP – I just don’t have the time to fit in playing PSN games on my PS3 there are just too many games to play

  6. I think this game looks really fantastic. Can’t wait for a european release date!. Gravity Crash will keep me well busy until it arrives though. £8 would be a resonable price me thinks. The name ’shooter’ does sound a bit half @ssed but its the gameplay that has my attention, not the name. And thats what its ALL about people. :)

  7. i get to use my “no plans for europe” yet again.
bet scee have a copy, got lost in “the dungeon” i expect.

    • It’s being developed by English speaking developers so hopefully it’ll hit US PSN just as quickly. Then I can nab it with a top-up card.

  8. I hate that! I was sucked in to reading this by the hope of a release date for the new pixel junk but sadly I was mistaken. Who gives a shit what the Japanese date is really!?

    • The Japanese? And everyone that posted above that didn’t sound like a nob.

      • Agreed. Even if not a single Japanese person (living in Japaneseland) is reading this it still gives us news on the game being finalised. Also, because it’s a PSN title, territory conversion should be that much quicker (if not simultaneous) so chillax, Fresh191. ;)

  9. Its ages away and they dont even have an european date :(

    • There is a date, it’s just not public yet.

  10. after xmas for us then

    • looks like i might be wrong

  11. nice christmas present :)
