God Of War 3 Ultimate Trilogy Collection

Way back in October, the US Blog revealed the plans for an Ultimate Edition of God of War 3, remember? It was going to feature a Pandora’s Box replica and copious amounts of bonus material including the soundtrack to all three games. At the time there was no word on whether us here the EU would get the same, or even something similar, but today brings good news.

A post on the EU Blog has today revealed that the EU, Australia and New Zealand will be getting that lovely looking Pandora’s Box replica along with the following:

  • God of War III
  • God of War Collection (gentle reminder, this is God of War and God of War II, remastered in HD, running at 60 fps, with Trophy support, all on one Blu-ray Disc)
  • Extra game content downloadable via PlayStation Network:
    • God of War Combat Arena containing an exclusive environment and seven challenges to complete
    • Dominus character skin
    • Apollo character skin
    • Phantom of Chaos character skin
    • Forgotten Warrior character skin
  • Exclusive video content downloadable via PlayStation Network:
    • God of War: Unearthing the Legend Franchise Documentary. This is a full-length documentary detailing the history of the God of War franchise. A must have for fans!
  • Special audio bonus content:
    • God of War Trilogy Soundtrack – God of War, II, and III scores from the game
    • God of War: Blood and Metal EP – a heavy metal homage featuring original music inspired by God of War
  • Additional content:
    • Artbook
    • Postcards

No mention on cost yet but that is promised within the “next few weeks”. Personally I don’t care how much it is; where do I put my name down for one and who do I have to kill in order to make sure that one of the “limited quantity” ends up in my hands?

    No wonder they didn’t want to sell us the relatively cheap GoW Collection, but instead wrap it up in a presumably expensive bundle, also don’t believe a word about exclusive content – how many times have seen exclusive content be made available to everybody

    I was worried that this would be the only way to get the collection here but according to a reply in the comments its release is being announced later.

    Hi imajinetion. Regarding the GOW Collection standalone launch, watch this space hehe :) For now we just wanted you all to know that this Ultimate Trilogy Edition is going to include the whole GOW trilogy and it will be available across Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

    Do want..  I didnt get around to buying GOW collection, so as long as the price is right (i.e. the same price or cheaper than buying them separately), this is a pre-order for sure.

    I’ll probably get banned from the site for saying this, but I really don’t see what the fuss is about with this game. I played the beta for the third one and thought it was gash. It’s just mindless button-bashing for the whole game. The graphics and everything are impressive but there’s two minutes of gameplay repeated for the entire thing.

      I hope you don’t get banned as I feel the same. Couldn’t bring myself to finish the first one and haven’t looked back since. Equally, my dislike of football games doesn’t mean I can’t still post here. :D Just that our opinions might differ from a few members, that’s all. :D

        What games do you like BoyDay, bunimomike?

        I believe most games could be reduced and distilled to doing the same thing over and over

        Mw2, just walk round shooting people, same with KZ
        uncharted just walking round shooting people whilst taking cover
        sports games… platformers anything really just involves doing the same thing over and over

        It all comes down to whether you enjoy repeating that task or not, I enjoy it with GoW and Dante’s Inferno, but not Devil May Cry & Bayonetta, I enjoy it with FIFA but not PES… I enjoy it with Uncharted but am still undecided whether MW2 is any good or not… I thinks it’s fun, but am not sure if its any good though

        It’s a good job we all like different things though

        I feel the same about GoW it kind of reminds me of Devil May Cry series , really pretty to look at but just button bashing .  I wouldn’t have dared say this only that the other 2 said what i felt also .  But we are by far the minority so its us with the problem !

      I can’t really comment as I’ve never played a GoW game but the way you summed it up is pretty much how I imagine it to be. Although saying that I’ll probably buy it as everyone I know who’s played GoW gameS highly recommends them and are pretty much wetting themselves waiting!

      i should say that i played the demo of the PSP version and thought it was ok for a PSP game where it’s meant to be short bursts that you play in, but yeah, for a console game it’s arse.

    Already have the GoW Collection. Picked up last week in New York, brought back to the UK and it works a treat. Looks lovely too. Downloading the GoW III demo as I type.

    I have played the GOW3 demo and couldn’t be arsed to finish it but I imported the GOW Collection and loved it. Going to give 3 another chance!
