The PSN will undergo maintenance today for a scheduled period of nine hours. Though the service is not expected to go dark for the duration of the tidy-up, you may get unceremoniously booted off the network at 21:00. Does that mean there’s maintenance every day? I’m joking.

All,
Please be aware that the PlayStation Network will undergo scheduled maintenance today from 16:00 GMT.
During the maintenance, you will still be able to sign-in to the PlayStation Network provided that you have signed in recently (eg: within the past month). However, you may experience an unexpected sign out towards 21:00 tonight when we restart our systems. Also: Account Registration, Account Management and the PlayStation Store will be unavailable for the entirity of the maintenance.
Maintenance will take place between:
16:00 – 0100 Tuesday 12th Jan – Wednesday 13th Jan

You most likely will. As the article says: this is mostly to do with the Store and Account stuff. The online component should be up. Until 9pm when you may get kicked. We’ll have to wait and see.

Kept getting ‘unexpected sign outs’ yesterday.

I love the word maintenance.. It makes me think some bloke with a Spanner, half a lit cigarette hanging outa his mouth whistling tunes..Rubbing the Server down with an oily rag..

Please god, fix all the BS that PSN has been going through the last month and a half…
Uncharted 2’s party system has been a complete mess (dunno if that’s down to the game, or PSN), tons of people have had random sign outs all over the place, and the whole friends list thing, where you can only see a fraction of the friends you have, is ridiculous. Oh, and the trophy sync nonsense too.
Of course, none of this is really implied by the description they posted, but Im still keeping my fingers crossed.

Ah, good game – got the Platinum. Remember that there’s only one ‘missable’ trophy and that’s the one where you have to kick a guard off a building while flying – if you get that then you can Plat in one playthrough.
