BlinkBox Coming To PS3 UK

TV and Movie service ‘Blinkbox’ is coming to Playstation in the UK. Blinkbox have designed a special version of their site for the PS3 browser which will resize to fit your TV. Michael Comish, CEO of Blinkbox, said:

“The PS3 is the first of a number of devices to which we will be bringing Blinkbox, enabling customers to use our service on their TVs for instant streaming of new blockbuster movies – available on the same day as their release on DVD – as well as a growing library of free ad-supported titles.”

Now the good news. Rental prices for TV shows start at 39p per episode, films start at 99p for hire or £2.99 to own.

The PS3 has had movie rentals via the PSN for a while but BlinkBox brings television shows to the PS3.  Heroes, Classic Doctor Who, ER, Battlestar Galactica, House, Fringe, Gossip Girl, Friends, The West Wing, Supernatural and even Count Duckula will be available.

No date has been given for when the PS3 service will begin (it might even up now, unfortunately I cannot check) but you can peruse what Blinkbox will have to offer on your PC by clicking here.

Update: The beta of Blinkbox PS3 is live, thanks Bodachi!
