UK Chart: Week Ending 23rd October

Another week, another number one.  This time it’s the turn of Fallout: New Vegas, which despite many bugs, we found to be a good game in our review.  Professor Layton also charts well, which is great because we chuffing well loved it – an essential purchase for DS owners.

Mad shooter Vanquish hasn’t done as well as I would have expected, but the big surprise is the total lack of DJ Hero 2, which charted down in 25th.  You can read our review here.

Sadly Enslaved has almost dropped off the face of the Earth, coming in at 31.  Castlevania fares slightly better at number 20.

  1. No suprises there then. Gamestation was crammed on Friday with people picking up Fallout: New Vegas.

  2. I don’t see it as a surprise DJ Hero 2 hasn’t done better. It’s an expensive title and people are tired of music games, take a look at how the latest Guitar Hero did.

It’s indeed sad to see Enslaved that long down the list already, it really needs some better marketing. Speaking of marketing, it’s no surprise to see Vanquish doing poorly, SEGA has never been good with marketing.

  3. Who is buying Dead Rising? Stop it immediately.

    • Why stop buying a great game?

    • You realy don’t like that game do you tuffcub? But I can understand your reasons, do you think they went for some nostalgic Resident Evil style loading screens by mistake?

      • Tuffcub I hate that game too, total waste of money (as I suspected it would be). It’s top of my trade in list.

    • Waste of time for Capcom… (again)

  4. Great showing from Ninty. 40% of the top10 despite all their titles only being available on one platform.

Disappointing that damn good games like Enslaved & Vanquish don’t make more of an impact as people stick to identi-kit sequels, I wonder if we’ll even see new IP released on disc games as we progress into the 2nd half of this generation

  5. Here I was, hoping that people had realised what a beautiful game Enslaved was, only to have it drop so far. I hope this doesn’t discourage Ninja Theory at all.

  6. Wii’s appeal is still strong. Move didn’t make much of a dent so it’ll be interesting to see how Kinect does.

  7. Who is still buying MW2? Shouldn’t they be getting in the Tesco queue ready for Black Ops! Both Enslaved and Vanquish looked tempting but with quite few games coming this month and next I need more time and money.

  8. Got Vanquish, love it

  9. Vanquish isn’t out in Norway til tomorrow but I shall be rushing to the shops to buy it in the morning :)

As for DJ Hero 2, I tried to find the standalone game but apparently that’s not out til Friday, the bundle was out last week, so, at least here, people who already have DJ Hero 1 will be waiting for the standalone disk.

  10. 3 words….modern warfare 2!!!

    Amazing!!!!
