Black Ops DLC Announced

Remember when the first batch of Modern Warfare 2 DLC was announced?  Everyone went mad at the price, and then promptly paid up and it went on to sell faster than a fast thing.  Clearly buoyed by this success, Activision has announced that the Xbox 360 version of CoD: Black Ops will be getting its first round of DLC from February 1 2011, costing 1200 MS Points.

The DLC, titled ‘First Strike’, contains four new regular maps and one new zombie arena.  The PS3 is expected to get this at a later date.

  1. What does that translate to in real money again?

    • About $15, so slightly above 10 in ye olde Sterling

      • So basically the same price aas the MW2 map packs then ???

      • Yep…
Activision can shove it. The price is ridiculous.
Bah, but I want more zombie maps… :'(

  2. Not getting any DLC this time.

    • Doubt if I will be either. Haven’t played this nearly as much as MW2 and the recent patch hasn’t helped matters at all.

  3. 1200 = £10
Still a ripoff, but I am a sucker for the Zombies mode so I may crumble and pick this up

  4. No thanks, I have already wasted my money on the game that does not work properly!

  5. I dont think i`ll have this gam by the time Ps3 version comes out, im trading it in as soon as i can, ive done the single player and im bored of online,Battlefield: Bad Company 2: Vietnam FTW!

  6. Probs won’t get this unless they fix all the matchmaking issues that are breaking the game.

  7. Wont be buying it, as I have completely and utterly reverted back to MW2. Now, if they released another map pack at £10 again for MW2 I’d buy it, they worth every penny for the play time I get on it.

  8. Never bought any COD map packs and i’m not planning on starting here. The only ones that i got were the COD 4 maps as they came free with the GOTY edition that i bought. I would never have bought the maps though and i just seen them as i bonus that i would of never actually got otherwise.

  9. My brother constantly says he doesn’t like this new game so i’ll bring it up when it comes to him asking for this :) i play black ops sometimes but i don’t think dlc for it is worth it

    • I know people like that. Throughout the year they constantly say they hate the game and that they will never play for overpriced maps which ids for a game that they will probably never play again (they’re words not mine) and yet the day that the DLC is released they are like “ah man i can’t wait to go home later i want to buy the new COD maps they are going to be awesome man” (again they’re words not mine)

  10. People love to hate COD games. Yeah, the map packs are overpriced, but for most people they get the use out of them and I think people are always quick to jump on the ‘COD is crap’ bandwagon. It has it matchmaking problems – sure but it’s being addressed and its not as bad currently as it was a week or two ago.

It’s a good game, and has people sticking with it for ages – even until a new COD is releaseed the following year. It seems people seem to love to hate COD and its a shame. Some people also seem to not to want to admit to liking it and seem ashamed by it. I’m not, its a great game to play with friends and a good laugh at times.

If people are so bothered about the price, why don’t they split it with mates? Thats what I do and we all pay 1/3 of the price and get the use out of it – Bargin! I guess its like marmite – you either love it, or you hate it.

    • Oops should of re-read that for typing errors =O

      Bargain*
