EA continues to reassure veterans of the PS2 SSX era with these new images. Not only do they bring back a fan favourite, Elise, they show some colour and the insane trick abilities of the riders.
Call me a hopeless nostalgist if you like but the colourful hues and twisted, icy caverns in these images really do bring back memories of SSX (Tricky was my favourite) and the feeling of unbound joy that the series used to be capable of.
SSX doesn’t have a release date yet but it is in development for PS3 and Xbox 360. It can’t come soon enough as far as I’m concerned.

Loved SSX3 and thought it was the best. We do still need Run DMC – It’s Tricky in there though. And the giant rocket on your back.

I usually hate sports games but the SSX game i played on PS2 was really good (forget what it’s name was though) so definitely going to try this one when it comes out

Both Tricky and 3 were the best imo, and I used to have such a crush on Elise, it was unbelievable!

3 was the best for me. It was such a fun game.
I’m secretly optimistic for this one (PLEASE no COD style seriousness, sick of it bleeding into everything)

Joystiq says it’s coming 2012 in January. And the trailer said “Next Winter”. Winter ends 21st January, I think.

SSX was the first the game i got for PS2 when it launched and loved it! Would love the rush you would get when hitting top speed on any of the tracks and pulling off an amazing trick with the fireworks exploding around you! Wow so cool.
