The more I see about the still-too-far-away SSX reboot, the more I want to see. Luckily, for me and those like me who are chomping at the bit to get our gloved mitts on the new iteration of one of the PS2′s best franchises, there will be a demo.
Speaking in an interview with TheGamingLiberty, Sean Smillie has confirmed that there are plans afoot for a demo but he didn’t let himself be drawn on what those plans might actually be.
Yeah, there are plans. But I haven’t been told when that’s going to happen.
Smillie also spoke a little bit about why they dropped the “Deadly Descents” suffix from the title, stating that it was confusing their slogan of “Race it, Trick it, Survive it” and giving too much emphasis to the survival aspect.
Personally, I can’t wait for SSX which is due for a January 2012 release, but I’m also not giving up on that Road Rash reboot I’ve been praying for…

still not sure if im looking forward to this or not, not too keen on the whole open world mountain setting, I loved SSX 2 with all the sifferent environments, including the city setting, and being able to smash through office blocks as short cuts and grind along bus roofs etc

Great news, cb. Also, fascinating to see them still reacting to community feedback from around the world. People were simply unimpressed with how this connected with the franchise (even though it looked a solid game in itself). They set about rectifying said initial impression and I guess this is the final part of that strategy.
Hopefully, it’ll be as awesome as SSX Tricky, if not better!

I will definitely need a demo before im willing to buy the full game , I don’t think this will be better than ssx tricky. A nice demo might change that opinion though.

If it’s as good as ssx tricky then it’ll be a no-brainer buy :)

I’ll be counting on a demo as i don’t want a repeat of the world tour game.

If it’s as good as or better than SSX3, but with the soundtrack stylings of Tricky, THEN it’s a no-brainer.

…actually I take back the soundtrack comment, and keep the musical stylings of SSX 3 with added HYBRID.

Hopefully it’ll be as good as SSX 3 (really loved the slick menu design, the character chatting during the races, the pseudo-open mountain, and the Super-Uber tricks). Hopefully NOT like SSX On tour: The imense load times, worst graphics and little costumization (2 or 3 types of hair, and half-a-dozen shirts and trousers and a couple of appearence modifiers (slim-strong-fat, and that kind of things)).
What I’m not liking in this reeboot, seen in the E3 demo, is the HUD, it feels like Halo’s HUD.
From SSX Tricky, I hope it retains the neat level design.

Good to hear, I was dubious about it with the initial details, it just didn’t sound the the SSX game that everyone wants, but from what I’ve seen, it looks like it won’t disapoint! A good demo would seal the deal for me, though.

That’s good news. Will be great to get back into SSX after such a long break.

As this is coming from the EA stable, who reckons that they’ll fit in some sort of Ski-Log, a customized version of Auto-Log and the upcoming Battle-Log? SSX with the Tricky stylings and sound track plus a Ski-Log would indeed be a thing of beauty.
