Hey GT5 fans, Kazunori Yamauchi has tweeted that the Spec 2.0 update will be released during the third week of October:
“GT fans, thanks for waiting… The GT5 Spec 2.0 update is coming the 3rd week of October, with DLC following a week later.”
A big update AND DLC? Take that, Forza 4! It’ll be interesting to see what will be made available, and if it will cost.

That too, I miss the tight streets of Citta di Ariaand Costa di Amalfi and of course the test course…

Ooh the test course, by that do you mean the one that was a pig with the rear engined RUF?
Semi-hopefull that Midfield Raceway will make for a return to the series, not sure why I like it so much but I just do.

Complex String?
Please let the DLC be Spa Francorchamps & Pikes Peak…

The one that’s a massive oval, where you can find out the top speed of your car.

Cautious optimism here.

At least it’s not a new game, DLC is less likely to be delayed as it’s there to keep/add interest, unlike new games.
Plus GT6 will be based on GT5′s core, so that shouldn’t be as disasterous as GT5′s launch schedule.

Same here. Got rid of GT5 about a month after day 1 purchase in a cloud of disappointment. Hoping this update + what has been done since I traded it will get mt interested again, especially as I have seen it doing the rounds for £19.99.

It is now a Platinum title and I’ve seen it at £14.99 (Amazon I think iirc)

Spec 2 will be nice and free, DLC on the other hand might be free, but it’s highly likely that it won’t be COD DLC priced, which is good.
Can’t wait, hopefully it brings some new concept cars and brings some standard cars up to premium quality (those that were added after GT (PSP) but were Standard (e.g. Jaguar XF))

What’s this?
So are all cars in GT5 Premium yet? :S

No, doubt they will be either.

They don’t look so bad, just a few would need updated, like the (Overrated) Bugatti and Zonda..

Isn’t the Zonda a Premium car already?

Noticed not all premium cars have interior rear view, a fix for that would by nice & my biggest wish, is to be able to access the garage while in track menu. It’s a chore having to quit, change & reload the same track.

Must get into this again.
I’m still at the awkward ‘crappy car’ stage.
Just like Virtua Tennis, have to grind before you get to the good stuff!

You can borrow cars though. Add me (JackDusty) and you can borrow some of my more exciting cars to use in the better races and unlock some goodens for yourself

If you have a GT5P save you can get some free credits. If you do the seasonals too, you can get a hell of a lot of money, although you need the car first.

Personally, the early stages are some of my favourite parts. Getting to rag around crappy cars isn’t a common thing in racing games :)

“GT fans, thanks for waiting” – something GT fans have gotten good at over the (many) years between games. Hell, maybe they should put that up as their splash screen at the start of the game instead of the usual Polyphony bit.

Change their name to “Thanks for waiting Digital”?

Well, you remember how Rare used to be Ultimate: Play the Game, they could be “Polyphony: Thanks for Waiting”.

How about Polyphony: It’s nearly finished…

Holy Cow! I am excited now! GT DLC is something that I just accepted would never happen………..hell, if it turns out to be new horns and paint I’ll no doubt buy it. But more importantly, 2.0 is a BIG number.

Premium cars and some new tracks, I hope.

Awesome, this will give me another chance to try and work on my decidedly mediocre driving ability. Hope the dlc is some sweet ass premium cars, with another few tracks thrown in.
